Unless, you DO want her there. But, if you don't, why allow it? Maybe, you lack firends, and you see her visit filling that need. If that is the case, why not go get real friends that aren't trying to seel you something?

Jehovah's witnesses are salesmen. She wants to sell you a product you don' have

or one that's she thinks is better . Your time on a clock . And if she make a sale, and get you back in

your a notch in her belt

    Householder: I'm not interested

Witness: May I ask, Do you mean that your not interested in the bible ?

Householder: I'm not interested in Jehovah's Witnesses

Witness: If you mean that your not interested in another religion, I understand that

Householder: Alright have a good day

Witness : Is that because you already have a religion ?

Householder: Yes and I'm not interested in another

Witness: I can appreciate that. A few years ago I felt the same way

Householder : I'm not interested today and won't be tomorrow

Witness : Would you be interested if I could show you from the bible.........

Householder : No, I'm not interested

Witness : if you mean that your not interested

    Householder : That's what I mean

Witness : Is that your usual reply when Jehovah's Witnesses call ?

Householder : Yep, and then I close the door

I wish so bad I hada said that

One simple " I'm not interested anymore" should do the trick

If you still have access to a lava lamp, every time they ask a question, pause, rub it with your hands a few seconds and then stare at the ceiling before before answering the question.

    That should break the tension.

You must tell them the truth, that you don't believe Jehovah's Witnesses are the true religion. Be done with it. They will probably drop you like a hot potatoe. You will find out what kind of friends they are then.

I am 50 yrs a bornin 3rd generation witness. Not DFed or DAed .

Feel no emotion about not continuing to talk to her. She is a salesperson for a publishing corporation cult

she is very deluded . Feel free to tell her you have found info on jwfacts.com and other reliable , honest, true

websites . Her internal self talk will tell her you are being controlled by SATAN .

You have no real hope of helping her . Most witnesses have to be repeatedly traumatized by the society

to even get them to research.

I know you want to help her. Maybe after a while you may try to help her . But really her best chance is to

recieve help from a former witness who knows where she is from.

Keep asking questions here you are in the right place.

Thx for the responses. I understand what the majority of you are saying. There's no point in trying to reason with her or anybody else I know who is a JW. Now I know how I must handle this. Thx

hmm... one last thought. Should you change your mind, I really wouldn't study EVERYthing. I knew quite a bit when a couple of unfortunate souls came across my path.

It is said that you cannot give someone a drink of water with a firehose. I've learned the problem with knowing too much - it's hard not to drown them with what you've learned.

Easiest issue to me? Jehovah's name. Ask her if she could bring her Aid to Bible Understanding Book. When she arrives, tell her you were reading the jw.org website and came across an article that seemed to allude to the use of any name other than "Jehovah" seemed to have something to do with Satan's control (http://wol.jw.org/en/wol/d/r1/lp-e/2010484). Ask her for her thoughts. LET HER EXPRESS THEM THOROUGHLY. When she's finished, ask her what you should do with the information at the bottom of 884 and the top of page 885 of HER Aid book where it explains that the name was created by a Roman Catholic Monk.

I'd then say, "I'm not comfortable with honoring the name a Roman Catholic monk that lived 700 years ago gave the Creator... are you?"

Then, "I'm thinking there could only be one truth - what you told me or what your Aid Book is saying... which do you think it is?"

In 3 of 4 instances, their brains were reeling at this point. In the fourth, the JW tried to make a hybrid out of his words and the Aid Book.

Either decision you make, GOOD LUCK!

I didn't read the other comments, so this might have been suggested. Just tell her not to come over. I was an active witness for 30 years and it's fairly common for people to brush you off. Don't worry about hurting her feelings. She will just rush you like the dust off of her feet. And on to the next 1.

Why do you even want to allow this person to come over?

What do you hope to gain or accomplish?

Are you trying to be nice? Don't bother. She's in a cult.

Save her? Ain't gonna' happen! She's in a cult.

Are you afraid of hurting her feeling? You shouldn't be, she's not concerned about yours. She's in a cult.

Do you not know how to say "No"? Let's practice: No. Very good. Now do it again. Three times for emphasis.
