How many decades/centuries before 1914 becomes irrelevant?

    jwfacts:

Definitely could work. Just start the seven times from the fall of Bablyon and release of the Jews. Say "God released them in 537, but by not restablishing his kingly line showed in 537 that the gentile times has started." Most JWs would miss the whole irony of a 1984 start date. Why 1984, because it was 3.5 years after Ray Franz had been removed and the temple cleansed. Jesus arrived in 1984 to find the organisation clean. A better argument than 1919, since at least in 1984 there was a Governing Body.

Don't give them ideas. That '3.5 years after Franz' stuff might actually seem plausible to them.

The Jews actually returned in 538, but they've never let facts bother them anyway.

I believe they will always stick with their 607 BCE/2520 years chronology, but I agree with breakfast of champions that eventually they will admit Jesus never became king in 1914.

They are likely to reinterpret Jesus 'presence' since 1914 to be nothing more than a spiritual 'temple cleansing' presence in terms of Malachi 3:1. It will devolve into something like the Seventh Day Adventists 1843 'investigative judgement' teaching. That way the GB gets to maintain their authority.

Everything else presently linked to 1914 can easily be shoved into the future to commence during the great tribulation.

1914 is the only one of the WTS's prediction dates that something big actually happened -- the beginning of WW1.

They won't be letting that coincidence go to waste any time soon, but they'll have to make up something to change its current significance.

1914 became irelevant in 1915. All the blatherspeak suggesting otherise is trickery.
