    Hi ItsMyLife,

The WT Org doesn't appear to be abandoning the appointment of ALL the 144K over the Master's belongings, even though the scripture does designate that it is the faithful slave who is appointed over them.

The annual report says this: "Jesus will reward “the faithful and discreet slave” by resurrecting the individual members of that group to heavenly life and by giving them royal authority over all Christ’s belongings in heaven and on earth. This is the same reward promised to all faithful anointed Christians."

They might be taking a page from current marketing strategies of releasing a product to the public and then making updates, upgrades, and corrections per feedback from customers. There still doesn't seem to be a study article about the changes outlined at their annual meeting, which might give them the perogative of pleading temporary insanity and reverting back to their former teaching.

i understand and appreciate the confusion. But actaully the WTS is going to pull this off.

The israel of god is the 144,000.

The domestics are all of Christ's property including the 144,000 and the other sheep

The faithfull slave are members of the 144,000 that feed the domestics.

yes it's rediculous, but the JW's will eat this shit up just like they always have

Who really is the faithful and discreet slave whom his master appointed over his domestics, to give them their food at the proper time? Happy is that slave if his master on arriving finds him doing so. Truly I say to YOU, He will appoint him over all his belongings."

So with this scripture, and the current GB statements, the 12k+ anointed are now NOT providing food at it's proper time, so there is no basis to "appoint them over all his belongings". So according to this, no one is is going to be "appointed ",until the number of the GB, gets to 144k.

Who cares about the overlapping generation, this can go on for 100's of years

So, the fds USED to be all annointed when the numbers were decreasing but when all these new partakers came on the scene who were labelled as mental patients, two groups had to be formed so that the shepherded flock didnt have to worry about being led by crazy people.

    Is that the gist?

Yup, that pretty much sums it up. Except that it was the governing body who were worried, not the shepherded flock.

To James Woods and Wha Happened re: the governing body alone has always been the dictator of policy and belief for JWs.

I was thinking along those lines, too, which means the new light is going to make their stated belief more in line with their actual practice.

    Welcome to to the forum.

    A fact to keep in mind (which most of our brothers & sisters are totally oblivious of) is this;

The "food at the proper time" is not produced by the GB (aka FDS); it is produced by 'earthly-hoper' brothers who have been selected (apparently) for their 'Organisation' mentality and writing skills. In other words, Bethel elders who don't claim to be of the 144,000.

It's a bit like going to a world-class chef's restaurant to try one of his renowned specialities, and having eaten it, loved it, and paid $400 for it, you discover that he supervised as his trainee chef prepared it all for you! Not quite what you expected, eh?

Jesus said that the FDS would be appointed over all his belongings, starting with the domestics according to the WTBTS, correct?

The GB say that only themselves and any anointed closely serving at World Headquarter despensing spiritual food are the FDS that Jesus spoke of, because the FDS was appointed in 1919. Still correct?

    Next, notice this quote:

" Consequently, Jesus will reward "the faithful and discreet slave" by resurrecting the individual members of that group to heavenly life and by giving them royal authority over all Christ's belongings in heaven and on earth. This is the same reward promised to all faithful anointed Christians.-Luke 22:28-30; Revelation 20:6. "

Let's state the same thought in a different order. " Jesus' promised reward to all faithful anointed Christians is that individuals of the group will be resurrected to heavenly life. They will be given royal authority over all Christ's belongings. This is the promise made to the " faithful and discreet slave. LUKE 22:28-30; REVELATION 20:6 "

If according to the WTBTS, the FDS is only those appointed after 1919, and involved with dispensing spiritual food at World Headquarters; then according to the new light from the GB, Jesus' was NOT making this promise to ALL faithful annointed Christians because only the FDS, appointed after 1919 and serving at World Headquarters involved specifically in dispensing spiritual food, is appointed over all his belongings.

It cannot be both ways. Either all faithful anointed Christians are faithful and discreet, and rewarded as promised by Christ or they are not.
