Problem with arguing Science is you are confronted at every turn with "God Dun It!" as the explanation.

Granted, you can then suggest that wouldn't it be easier to send a legion of angels of death instead, but then you're countered with, "who are mere mortals to ask how God operates?"

To avoid inciting a bottomless supply of miracle apologetics, I prefer to approach it by looking at the story logically, analyzing God's motives for the flood, his double flip-flop regrets afterwards (which contradicts his claimed traits of omniscience) and the goofy rationale YHWH offered before the Flood.

Also helpful to consider whether God accomplished his stated goal. Remember, the Flood was a dry (wet?) run-through, a proto-Armageddon: did he succeed in his goals for his first attempt? If not, why should he do any better the next time?

I can think of no account in the Bible that depicts God as a hot-headed incompetent bungler more than the Flood, if the person can look at it as free of biases as possible.

Enigma, I think it is actually the opposite. There was a 2000 year span, during which humans lived hundreds of years having very large families. I have seen population estimates indicating the global population could have been close to a billion by the time of the flood.

    Outlaw I am still laughing!

Taking into consideration scientific data world population at that time must have been considerable and wide spread. So no way for Noah to preach to all those people around the earth.

No need of anything else to debunk the myth.

So you go to your local museum, either of art or natural history, and you'll notice that around the time of the flood (2370 BCE) there is a period of time where all cultures and societies vanish off the face of the planet. . . .

    NOT!!!!

Really? A billion people? In less than 2000 years? How do you feed a billion people? Imagine china but with no central organization and no modern equipment. how do a billion people survive in primitive lifestyles? clothing, No sanitary facilities. homes to live in? deaths, The people were supposedly wicked so there would definitely be deaths, plenty of crime. If they are so wicked that God is going to wipe them all away they must be doing something much worse than murdering their own brother. How did Noah supposedly preach to a billion people in 100 years with 3 sons and a wife as well as build an ark and collect all the animals.

And why does god want to kill land animals but not sea creatures.

I always hear appologists argue it has to be a global flood because God would have just told noah to move some place else instead of build an ark. What if Noah couldnt move from his location? What if he was surrounded by land barriors and couldnt move all of his family and animals. Every time i think of that story the more rediculous it sounds. So no humans live near any large body of waters? No homans would have already built boats before for maybe fishing. Oh wait they only ate fruit/vegetaion from the ground back then. Maybe the wicked were smart enough to eat other foods.

The supposed diversification of animals since the flood. For instance, wt flood theory goes that all felines descended from two felines that noah brought on board. That included house cats, lions tigers, cheetahs, the various leapords, cougars, ocelots, lynxes, bobcats. They claim that this happened within the last 4,500 yrs. Yet, there is no evidence that this diversification happened so fast. Even early parts of the bible speak of lions, for instance as distinct from other felines, fully developed as a species, and hardly changed since then.

Gen 49 is the fisrt use of lion, indicating it fully evolved form. It is reasonable, by their standards to conclude that other feline forms had also finshed their diversification from noahs 2 felines. Genesis was written in 1513 bc. The flood happened, supposedly 2370 bc. The math leaves only 767 yrs for all the feline diversifications to the above named types to have happened. As well, they would have had to have spread to all parts of the world within that time of a few hundred yrs. That is extremely fast evolution and travel. Not even the most outlandish scientist suggest anything of that nature within the evolution theory.

If indeed, felines could have had the power to diversify so extremely within such a short period of 767 yrs, then there should have been continued diversification since 1513 bc, through the next 2500 yrs, until the present time. However, there is absolutely zero evidence of this. Even domestic cats were around before 1513bc, mummies of them being found in egypt dating to 2000bc.

Evolutionary scientists date feline diversication as taking place over time periods of millions of yrs, from 10 to 30 millions of yrs ago. The wt theory allows for 767 yrs. Which makes more sense?

The above shows how childishly simplistic and based on ignorance the global flood story is.

Yeah, but "God Dun It!" and faith covers a multitude of crimes against logic (esp if the person is an uneducated homeschooler).
