Before the Borg - Triumph Stag, TR6, Triumph GT6, Jaguar XJ6 and 12.

When we were studying and up to and a few years after baptism - Husband, Rolls Royce Silver Shadow, Me, MGB, Ford Escort XR3i, Nissan 300ZX.

We were always being councelled on our materialism so we toned down the type of cars we had, my goodness what fools we were.

    Peace

I took a lot of heat for that first Porsche 911, but after that they pretty much left me alone.

Councelling us turned into a hobby for some of those knob elders, they never left us alone. We recognised way too late it was really none of their damned business.

My first car was a Ford Capri 2.0 litre Ghia

I also had a Dolomite Sprint - which I loved, although it spent more time being repaired than on the road

My favourite car of all time was my old Merc W210

Woods, what the hell does "royal status" have to do with best car dollar for dollar? Porsche dominates in practically every concivable mesurable metric. Even in "royal status".

I had two favorite cars: a 1978 AMC Concord D/L and a 1986 Hyundai. I explored Colorado with both, particularly the Hyundai. My buddy and I once coaxed it up the narrow unpaved road that led to the summit of Engineer Pass, a place I’m sure no Hyundai had ever been before. We didn’t make it because even in first gear its four-cylinder engine didn’t have enough power to overcome the steep gradient, but we saw some great things along the way. That Hyundai took me to some of the wildest corners in Colorado, providing me with many wonderful experiences.

elderelite, howdy. ur posts crack me up. i agree that porsche is a great car. handling, balance, value, speed, and reliability.

that being said, imagine you are at a swanky nightclub. a porche and ferrarri pull up at the same time, you will witness royal status. infact in my redneck of the woods ferarris are parked by the doors as a status symbol of the club.

Royal status means that Rolls-Royce outranks Mercedes, Ferrari outranks Porsche, just as Princess Di outranks Kate Middleton.

That is just the way it is.

Dollar for dollar - Royal status is only worth the dollars to a very few.
