    (it's called a 'pip' -- just learned that since I started watching this site)

    Tonight's the night!

    By the way, it's only thought that one egg is viable. The first egg was left overnight about a week before the second was laid. The biologist for the project explained at that time that it may not have been fertilized or otherwise not viable, which is why the parents left it untended.
