GB: "We don't know if Jehovah wants us to build new headquarters, but we're doing it anyway..."

I really hope this is the beginning of the end for them. I heard they put off doing this big move ever since 9/11 occured and wanted to just focus on the preaching work. Now over 10 years later, they decide they want to undergo the move after all??? The sad thing is, so many JWs have their heads stuck up their asses they won't even begin to sense that something is wrong here.

Brilliant article, cedars, by the way.

I'm surprised they didn't say something like, "We are convinced that the Big A is closer than our age-spots-cover-up. However, if it doesn't happen, we need to be prepared to provide for the throngs of new JW's that are coming into the organization daily."

Mosque to go up near New York's ground zero

May 07, 2010 | By Nicole Bliman, CNN

"Plans to build a mosque two blocks away from ground zero have set off an emotional debate among area residents and relatives of victims of the September 11, 2001 terror attacks.

Cordoba House project calls for a 15-story community center including a mosque, performance art center, gym, swimming pool and other public spaces.

The project is a collaboration between the American Society for Muslim Advancement and the Cordoba Initiative, both of which work to improve relations with followers of the religion.

Comments: The American Society for Muslim Advancement is building a mosque in New York City and Watchtower, with a very prominant location for advertising, is cutting tail in disgrace.

I remember when they started talking about the Patterson Education Center in the 1980's. When researching the deeds of properties and their zoning for possible expansion in Brooklyn, they found out they already had property with hotel zoning. They applied for permits, which means they dished out some money to the City, and they got approval. They had also got approval for Patterson. Brothers were saying in talks that they didn't know if it was Jehovah's will to build both properties, but they would take the approval process as indication of his blessing. Shortly after finishing the 30 story building they sold it. Hum. God changed his mind I guess.

Don't be fooled, Watchtower property investors know exactly what they want to do, but the pseudo religion side uses the opportunity to present the information as verification that they are God's spokesman on earth.

Anybody can connect their conduct to approval with God. "Brother", we would like to talk to you about the harmful effects of materialism and your children attending the university". "Yes, we prayed and made an offer on the house and evidently it was God's will that we have it. We did the same for the children. We prayed that if it was God's will for the children to attend the university then he would let us know. We applied for these scholarships and at several universities and received acceptance from all the universities. It must have been Jehovah's will.

'Although we are not yet certain of Jehovah’s will regarding Warwick,' said Brother Pierce, 'we are proceeding to develop the site with the intention of relocating the world headquarters of Jehovah’s Witnesses there.'

These words imply, that it was Jehovah's will to acquire the site in Warwick, even his purpose about it hasn't been revealed yet. But everything the WTBTS will accomplish there, afterwards will be proclaimed as exactly what Jehovah wanted them to do.

That is, in my opinion, what these guys drive: The idea that no matter what they do, later it can be stated as gods will with millions of people eager to buy it.

What a strange thing to say.

they could equally have said ''jehovah wants us to build patterson to serve as a central base for the post armageddon rebuilding''

and the rank and file would swallow it all.

Previously spouted wisdom went like this:

The faithful slave is also discreet in that it neither acts immodestly, running ahead of Jehovah, nor lags behind when God’s direction on a matter is clear. (w09 2/15 p. 27 par. 12)

It is becoming increasingly clear that for anyone of us to keep pace with the New World society we must respond with the same readiness and willingness to Jehovah’s directions as did the faithful prophets and apostles. (w56 6/1 p. 340 par. 12)

Reading the above mentioned quotes, then my distict impression is, the GB is not in tune with their heavenly abode any longer. Decades ago they had the dignity to admit that, "since it is clear that the Great Pyramid was not built at the direction of Jehovah", they were either running ahead or lagging behind with directions.

Now the boy scouts are just saying, "lunch is packed, the weather is fine, and we are heading north-east. We set trail markers for you, Jehovah, in case you want to follow".

    Something ain't right.

There's usually some positive in any situation. Even funerals are sad, but it brings families together that haven't seen each other in a while.

They seem to be attempting to play this hand with the building project. In the future, if it turns out to be a bad decision, they can say:

"Jehovah still blessed us! Look at how many people all over the country got to work on this project and strengthen their faith, and work on God's House! Even when it started, we did not know why Jehovah had us build it, but now we see he blessed us with a stronger organization and many young ones got a taste of what paradise will be like!"

    Everyone claps!
