    an inspirational quote or saying you would like to share? I have a little book that I write stuff down in,, some funny, some serious ...

    Here's one I stole from a friend's f/b feed....

    An old Cherokee told his grandson, "My son, there's a battle between two wolves inside us all. One is Evil. It's anger, jealousy, greed, resentment, inferiority, lies, and ego. The other is Good. It's joy, peace, love, hope, humility, kindness, empathy, and truth." The grandson thought about it and asked his grandfather, "Which wolf wins?" The old Cherokee simply replied, "The one you feed."

    and he re's one from my book ...

    Making the decision to have a child ~ it's momentous. It is to decide forever to have your heart walking outside your body.

    For my birthday a couple of years ago, knowing that I'd been battling with anxiety and depression, a very good friend gave me a little book called "50 Things to Always Remember...and One Thing to Never Forget" by Douglas Pagels. The blurb on the back says, " Words to Live By and Wishes to Share With Someone Very Important". The following quote is my favourite.

    "Nothing wastes more energy than worrying. The longer one carries a problem, the heavier it gets. Don't take things too seriously. Live a life of serenity, not a life of regrets. Make your tomorrows everything you want them to be. If there is a change to be made, set the stage for tomorrow to bring it. When you're not sure what to do, trust your intuition and just wing it."

    paul --- profound, sooo true,, fear paralyzes ... have you ever read the books? I only made it through the first one.

    BOC --- also profound, I refuse to be a 'cog in the wheel' of the capitalist machine

    mumma --- kinda has the 'flavour' of desiderata,, love it!

    Desiderata

    Go placidly amid the noise and the haste,
    and remember what peace there may be in silence.

    As far as possible, without surrender,
    be on good terms with all persons.
    Speak your truth quietly and clearly;
    and listen to others,
    even to the dull and the ignorant;
    they too have their story.
    Avoid loud and aggressive persons;
    they are vexatious to the spirit.

    If you compare yourself with others,
    you may become vain or bitter,
    for always there will be greater and lesser persons than yourself.
    Enjoy your achievements as well as your plans.
    Keep interested in your own career, however humble;
    it is a real possession in the changing fortunes of time.

    Exercise caution in your business affairs,
    for the world is full of trickery.
    But let this not blind you to what virtue there is;
    many persons strive for high ideals,
    and everywhere life is full of heroism.
    Be yourself. Especially do not feign affection.
    Neither be cynical about love,
    for in the face of all aridity and disenchantment,
    it is as perennial as the grass.

    Take kindly the counsel of the years,
    gracefully surrendering the things of youth.
    Nurture strength of spirit to shield you in sudden misfortune.
    But do not distress yourself with dark imaginings.
    Many fears are born of fatigue and loneliness.

    Beyond a wholesome discipline,
    be gentle with yourself.
    You are a child of the universe
    no less than the trees and the stars;
    you have a right to be here.
    And whether or not it is clear to you,
    no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should.

    Therefore be at peace with God,
    whatever you conceive Him to be.
    And whatever your labors and aspirations,
    in the noisy confusion of life,
    keep peace in your soul.

    With all its sham, drudgery, and broken dreams,
    it is still a beautiful world.
    Be cheerful. Strive to be happy.

    Here is one of my faves from Chief Dan George:

    If you talk to the animals they will talk with you
    and you will know each other. If you do not talk to them
    you will not know them, and what you do not know
    you will fear. What one fears one destroys."
