can we say "hypocrites" they have what?, three main websites in the us and others in larger countries like France and Russia with there own sites.

Probably ten or so years ago there were some who would receive e-mail experiences from relatives and offer them to the po to use on the podium as encouraging. No-no can't do that. About a year later when a brother that hailed from the area and had become a lawyer for the society was in Russia fighting cases the e-mails that he sent back to his parents were suddenly "different" and acceptable for the podium. Go figure.

I'm starting to think a "Girls of JWN" pin-up calendar is in order.

That sounds familiar. I think it was done once a few years ago. Or maybe that was on another board. My memory's kind of foggy.

"Others have decided not to have access to the Internet." (Read Matthew 5:27-30.)

    (Matthew

5:27-30)27 "YOU heard that it was said, ‘You must not commit adultery.’ 28 But I say to YOU that everyone that keeps on looking at a woman so as to have a passion for her has already committed adultery with her in his heart. 29 If, now, that right eye of yours is making you stumble, tear it out and throw it away from you. For it is more beneficial to you for one of your members to be lost to you than for your whole body to be pitched into Ge·hen′na. 30 Also, if your right hand is making you stumble, cut it off and throw it away from you. For it is more beneficial to you for one of your members to be lost than for your whole body to land in Ge·hen′na.

I rarely agree with the Watchtower, and I don't agree with this comment...at least not completely.

There are some that have been addicted to porn to an almost destructive result. They have allowed it to ruin their family and spiritual life. If you can't control yourself, then you need to get help. But in the meantime, maybe in certain cases it would be helpful to not have that sort of access available to you.

I think that's just a band aid to the situation though, and to suggest such a thing is rediculous. I think that this would only be a solution in .0000001% of cases. I think the more appropriate discussion is "Why do you feel the overwhelming compulsion to view porn?" There may be a deeper issue at work.

But it goes to show, they don't trust their own followers. If a rule is not made, then who know WHAT the "brothers" will do?!?!?

It shouldn't take hours to view pornography if you're doing it right.

    Just sayin.

    @MadSweeney: LOL good point.

DO they have ANY idea how many jws have facebook pages? ANY? They are dreaming if they think that their counsel is being followed. Not just on this issue.

Question: How do they know what is on the internet? Holy spirit or a browser of their own?

"Why do you feel the overwhelming compulsion to view porn?" There may be a deeper issue at work.

Having a partner with a lower or nonexistent sex drive could be one issue, as could a partner who uses sex as "currency" or for leverage to gain favours. I have to laugh at my ex who denied me sex for 11 years because I didn't have a "title" in the congregation, and later got pissed when she found an x-rated video in my home office. As far as I'm concerned, she relinquished any perceived "authority" over my genitals when she started to deny me a normal intimate relationship.

She should have been thankful. Most men would have dumped her sorry ass long before I did.

Finally-Free: Exactly! So it seems to me, IMO, that porn wasn't even the issue. The Watchtower seems to like to focus on all the symptoms of things, but never gets down to the actual PROBLEM. It wasn't porn, necessarily, that was the issue. It was that sex was being withheld and you couldn't have a normal sex life with your wife.

You BOTH could've focused on the movie she found and blown the porn issue all out of propotion and you could've felt guilty and you could've "relapsed" and gone through a buch of things that were pointless to go through. Or you could've focused on fixing what was REALLY in error: her using sex as a tool against you.

What do they mean by "the" computer?

Excellent observation! The GB seems to be still caught inside the temporal rift left by the mid 90's. Back then it was common for a house to have a single "house computer." Computers were much more expensive back then as well, especially laptops.
