R omans 8:9-11 (New International Version)

9 You, however, are controlled not by the sinful nature but by the Spirit, if the Spirit of God lives in you. And if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he does not belong to Christ. 10 But if Christ is in you, your body is dead because of sin, yet your spirit is alive because of righteousness. 11 And if the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead is living in you, he who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through his Spirit, who lives in you.

1 Peter 3:18 (New International Version)

18 For Christ died for sins once for all, the righteous for the unrighteous, to bring you to God. He was put to death in the body but made alive by the Spirit

Oh Stephen........do you really think those are clear scriptures that support a 3rd Person Trinity Polythesim Godhead. You are deluding yourself and others. A cult vulture grapping at straws to gain converts. I'm going to hit the pool, then come back and rag on you some more.

Stephen, I get where wannbefree is coming from. Although I HAVE seen that the ante Nicean fathers DID believe in the trinity, I have yet to find CONCLUSIVE proof that the 1st century Christians as a whole did. I'm not denying that they did. It's just hard to find the proof.

However, I do see a MULTITUDE of proof that the Bible does discuss Jesus relationship with the Father in a FAR greater way than the WT claims. Also, the Holy Spirit actually SPEAKS in the Bible. It tells people where to go. It is not like electricity, as JWs like to claim.

Thinkaboutit: Defend yourself using scriptures. That would be far more useful in this convo.

Also, look up "polytheism". The Trinity is NOT polytheistic. JWs are polytheistic. Mormons are polytheistic. But by definition, the Trinity is not. There is 1 God. Only 1. All 3 persons of the godhead have the right to claim the title "God". But yet there are not 3 Gods, but one.

Essan You IGNORE that and simply say "Oh but he sits in a lower position at God's right hand", as if that somehow negates what has just been shown.

    Agreed.

Think About It's ignorance did not go ignored here.

There is another question that needs a proper answer that has been ignored.

How did Jesus raise Himself from the dead if He was "conscious of nothing"?

    Blessings,

The WT don't want any one hearing from the Holy Spirit so they make Him an impersonal "active" force.

    He has plenty to say.

    John 14:15-26 (New International Version)

    Jesus Promises the Holy Spirit
15 "If you love me, you will obey what I command. 16 And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Counselor to be with you forever— 17 the Spirit of truth. The world cannot accept him, because it neither sees him nor knows him. But you know him, for he lives with you and will be [ a ] in you. 18 I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you. 19 Before long, the world will not see me anymore, but you will see me. Because I live, you also will live. 20 On that day you will realize that I am in my Father, and you are in me, and I am in you. 21 Whoever has my commands and obeys them, he is the one who loves me. He who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I too will love him and show myself to him."

22 Then Judas (not Judas Iscariot) said, "But, Lord, why do you intend to show yourself to us and not to the world?"

23 Jesus replied, "If anyone loves me, he will obey my teaching. My Father will love him, and we will come to him and make our home with him. 24 He who does not love me will not obey my teaching. These words you hear are not my own; they belong to the Father who sent me.

25 "All this I have spoken while still with you. 26 But the Counselor, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you.

    Blessings,

    Stephen
