That has to be the most disappointing aspect of this situation to me. The first thing she said after "hi" was "brother xxxx wants your phone number". It was like I was getting a response from an automated message rather than a person. I've been out so long I guess I forgot how much control this organization has over people.

Don't give them any sense of authority or power by agreeing to meet with them, and if by chance they do get you on the phone, turn it around on them by saying we've been gone all this time and they are just now getting around to checking up on you? Then say, some elders you guys are, and hang up on him. He will be so embarrassed of sherking their responsibility that they will not bother you anymore.
