Are Jehovah's Witnesses really the ONLY religion that promotes and preaches the Name of JEHOVAH?

JW's are always claiming that they are the ONLY religion that preaches and uses the name JEHOVAH, and that is why only they will be saved. For example, look at this quote from the Watchtower:

    The Watchtower, September 15th, 1994, Page 26:

"Of all international religions, which is the only one that uses God’s name, Jehovah? Is it not Jehovah’s Witnesses? Do you think God would allow them to bear his name and not also give them his holy spirit?"

But that is simply NOT TRUE. There are several other religions that preach and that use the name JEHOVAH.

Here is a small list (please add more to this thread that you know of):

Yes. I'm sure that many people know this, but, just for the sake of comment, if my understanding is correct, and the jews are right on this, "Jehovah" is not even correct. The speculation is that the name was Yahweh. If I'm not mistaken, in one of his books, Ray Franz says that even the witnesses recognize that.

This is a very interesting topic and interesting comment from dgp.I was also told that Jehovah may not be the exact name by other witnesses. But it was explained to me that the important thing is that a proper name be used.I guess that one was close enough?

Dr. Charles Stanley (www.intouch.org) uses the name JEHOVAH many times during his sermons.

Yeah, they are not unique in saying the name Jehovah. We have a Wesleyan in our prayer group who often says "Lord Jehovah God above" during his prayer. I can only guess he hears it a lot in his church.

It is also true that Yahweh is closer but that the true pronounciation is not certain. That and the fact that the divine name was not to be uttered but use Lord instead is why most english Bibles use LORD.

The society is just claiming something that is not really totally true.

I can't remember exactly where I read it, But I remember something like it went into detail about how only consanant sounds or letters were recorded and the vowel sounds were lost and therefore we don't have the correct pernounciation.

    The Watchtower, June 1st, 2001, Pages 13-14:

Identifying Marks of Those Having God’s Backing [...] They use and publicize God’s name, Jehovah. Isaiah foretold: “In that day you will certainly say: ‘Give thanks to Jehovah, you people! Call upon his name. Make known among the peoples his dealings. Make mention that his name is put on high. Make melody to Jehovah, for he has done surpassingly. This is made known in all the earth.’” (Isaiah 12:4, 5) Jesus taught his followers to pray: “Our Father in the heavens, let your name be sanctified.” (Matthew 6:9) Therefore, whether Jew or non-Jew, Christians were to serve as “a people for [God’s] name.” (Acts 15:14) God is obviously pleased to back those who are proud to be “a people for his name.”

Why are Jehovah’s Witnesses so sure that they have the true religion? Because ... they meet the requisites: They loyally advocate the Bible as God’s sacred Word of truth (John 17:17); they keep completely separate from worldly affairs (Jas. 1:27; 4:4); they bear witness to the divine name, Jehovah, and proclaim God’s Kingdom as mankind’s only hope (Matt. 6:9; 24:14; John 17:26); and they genuinely love one another.—John 13:34, 35.

Are these organizations measuring up to this requirement of true religion? Really, what group does bear witness to the name of God, as did Jesus, who is called in the Bible “the Faithful Witness”? (Rev. 1:5; Isa. 43:10-12) If you were to talk to your neighbors and refer repeatedly to Jehovah, using his sacred name, with what organization do you think they would associate you? That is not a difficult question to answer. There is only one people that notably follow Jesus’ example in this regard.

In the book "Aid to bible Understanding" under the heading Jehovah... it goes into detail as to why J W~s stay with the pronunciation Jehovah over any other name, Yahweh etc.and the bottom line was, Jehovah was more commonly used, and people in general were more familiar with that name. They also pointed out that Jesus is not the correct pronunciation for the son of God but it is the anglicized pronunciation, and the important thing is not the literal pronunciation ,but who was identified by that name.... Though isn`t that inconsistent of them ? you may ask ? They have no problem changing any, and everything else, when new light is revealed, but the name, whom they put so much importance to,doesn`t seem to matter, when new light shows Yahweh as being more accurate.

I attended a funeral of a work colleague at a `Uniting Church` service some years back to a packed congregation, and one of the hymns was titled with Jehovah`s name, and repeated many times during the hymn sung by all in attendance.
