I knew it could happen one day...yet I was so careful....

Sitting at the sound cabinet, I had our awesome forum open on my tablet, and didn't see the microphone brother looking over at me.....

He wandered over and asked me "whats that site?"

I quickly responded "oh, I googled to get to our jw.org site, and this must have popped up" while quickly closing it...

He didn't look too fussed, but my heart WAS BEATING....

He is pretty chilled out and certainly not an "uber-Dub"...but this was a wake up call to be more careful...I am fading fast, but don't want anymore attention from the nazi-elders while doing so!

    Be careful all!

As long he didnt see porn then i wouldnt worry about it, he cant read anything apart from large font stuff at 4 feet anyway.

Him saying brother SIAR2 was on a worldly website during the meeting just makes him out to be a petty brown noser to any reasonable elder.

I doubt he would even consider it was an 'apostate' site. It sounds like he didn't think you were on the JW org site or had it open to any of the publications. If anything he may be a bit concerned that you are not concentrating on the meeting and at worst your current duties may be changed.

    LISTEN obey and be blessed.

Be careful. Even saying certain things will get you caught. In an email I put WTBS and was told that's what apostates say! By a few people. Not sure why they would say that or how they would know it, I just said it s a mouthful to write it all out. Anyway. When the micro scope is on you it becomes a witch hunt and an inquisition like I am going through these days. Be careful. I didn't mean to leave out the extra T even

An great way to avoid getting caught on apostate sites at the meetings. . .. . is stop going to meetings! Works for me!

But in all seriousness, watch out for yourself!

    Stuck, awesome quick reply!

Be prepared for a casual inquiry from one of the elders in case Brother Microphone Handler decided to go all tattle-taler on you.

Clear your browser history!!! Deny, deny, deny.

And for God's sake: STOP GOING TO MEETINGS!

    How would they know?

Don't clear your browser history. Tell them you'll let them see your browser history when they have a warrant.

Why anyone would let an elder look at his browser history is beyond me.

    Hypothetical:
Elder: "Can I see your browser history?"
Me: "Hell, no." (We say "hell" in Texas even in the congregation.)
    Elder: "Why not?"
Me: "Because it's none of your business."
Elder: "What do you have to hide?"
Me: "I'm hiding nothing. I'm preserving my dignity and privacy. You're not the police."
Elder: "Well, it seems to me that if you had nothing to hide you wouldn't be objecting."
Me: "Okay, let's call the service desk and ask them if it's okay for an elder to demand to see someone's browsing history. Better yet, let's call my attorney."

Cappy, you have a good point, a hell of one in fact!

A better one is for Stuck to STOP GOING TO THE FRIGGIN' MEETINGS!
