What is a "wild" flower?
Does it snarl and pluck itself from the fetid soil
to seize its prey and devour it with grim rapacity?
Or, does it howl some silent, somnolent cry
to the silver moon hung atilt in the sad November sky?
Does the wildflower list like a slacken sail upon the greenish surf of wind and grass as though to slumber still?
Or, does it lust to thrust itself upon your naked limbs
and pollinate with reckless, thrumming ecstacy?
Is it more wild than flower?
I hear the whisper of an unknown world astir within her eyes.
