Before I left I reported zero hours. Before that I just put down anything so they would leave me

alone. It is good to work less and report more. Makes you look good and its less householders

    that you tick off.

    Blues Brother,

Yes, that was the paragraph, and, good catch on the "falsify" language. It does sound like they suspect JWs of fraudulent reporting.

So, after the paragraph had been beat to death, I leaned over to my wife and whispered in her ear:

"So, I think tonight would be a good time to increase our magazine order, what do you think?"

In my last 10 years or more I don't think I put an "honest" report in ever.

I always report at least 10+ hours, though I usually only did at 5-8 in a month.

Throw in a some magazine and book placements.

    Maybe a "return visit"

There is a greater problem with these statistics. What exactly are they gaining? Let's suppose that these already dubious figures are true.

Ask yourself, are these Witnesses of 2009 vintage equal to the devoted quality of Witnesses 50 years ago? Even 20 years ago? Do Witnesses commonly get divorced now? Are they devoted amateur Bible scholars as they used to be? Do they download porn? Are they dependent on drugs to fend off depression? Are Witnesses now known for being good people - or fanatical cult members to be avoided? Are Witness kids dominantly living a double life? Maybe the parents, too?

And now the big one: Are Witnesses in 2009 much less generous in giving donations to the Watchtower Society? So that endless cutbacks and layoffs are needed?

I say that the Governing Body is faced with a deepening crisis - that they are funding mostly worthless growth..... third world countries that can't pay back that which is invested in them, Witness kids that are compelled to comply, elders that are just going thru the motions, and widespread closing of wallets.

"So, what would be some of the consequences if people didn't report their field service time correctly?"

Try, 75% of the elders would be deleted because they didn't keep up with the 10 hours per month (I hear lately they are even not enforcing that).

They'd probably lose 90% of the regular pioneers. They used to talk about pioneers who were members of the "Secret Service". They got their time in, but were never seen in service.

Once people realize what a sham this is, they have no problem filling in a time sheet. Its just "playing the game."

Yeah you are right there, once appointed an Elder can get away with consistent 8 or 9 hours without eyebrows being raised.

Gee.. I wonder what gave them that idea?? All their spies checking out the discussions at JWN, perhaps? <evil grin>

Ooh, well. I haven't been out on first call, return visits, or placed any 'zines for a year now. But my report is always a healthy 8-12 hours, 4 rvs, 10 mags.

Sometimes I make a 'special effort' and change the numbers a bit.

Field Service was something that never sat well with me as a kid including the reporting of hours. The WTS is forcing everyone to be a preacher, an evangelist. None of this is in the Bible. Not everyone is to do this. Now THAT is in the Bible.

Why is it this so called group of 'God's Chosen' continually do things that are not in the Bible?
