I was later to learn that he failed to mention the "third" publisher, the one that counted time from the moment he left his house to the time he got home; he got three hours that day!

or the fourth publisher that didn't even go out that day but turned in 3 hours...

The Actual Replies from OM's Congregation!

    1. "Well, it could have an effect on how much literature is produced."

Former Bethelites, please correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure literature production, especially magazine print runs, are determined by the ORDERS from congregations, not the potentially bogus numbers reported on FS reports.

    2. "It could have an effect on where missionaries are sent. Or, where The Branch decides to send volunteers willing to serve where the need is great."

The whole time I'm sitting there thinking: "Consequences? Consequences? Did he REALLY just say Consequences? Whether the JWs report a Billion hours FS this year or a Trillion hours, is it going to have ANY noticeable effect on life on this planet? "

    Consequences, Shmonsequences.

Even when I stopped going, I would receive an email or text message from the secretary asking how many hours I accomplished for the month. As an average dub, I always stated 12 hours and 2 return visits. I really wanted him off my back, therefore, in the last report I sent, I stated that I worked 268 hours.

    They never bothered me again.

i believe they want you to think that maybe the congregation is about to witnesses another ananias & sapphira episode

    "I stated that I worked 268 hours."

    ROTFLMAO!

(Mentally adding this to the ever-growing list of ways to subtly give the local congo the finger if that time ever comes.)

Just curious, was there any method employed to come up with "268"?

    nancy drew,

I think you're right. Jehovah is always looking over your shoulder and you never know when he's gonna stop his 2,000 year hiatus and open a can of celestial whoop-ass on the poor JW who dared to count time at the donut shop.

    Hey Open Mind.

There wasn't a method to my madness unfortunately. I was going to put 150,000,000, but then thought that would be silly. You see, my mother, a regulus pioneer, used to/still does the same thing.

If we were invited to a dubs home and a demonic unbeliever was in our midst, she would chat with that one for about an hour. On our way home though, she would tell us how refreshed she felt after spending 6-7 hours talking about Jehovah.

The apple, as they say, doesn't fall far from the tree...

    Regards
    RAB

PS. I know of many, many, many acting dubs that do the same thing. My former best mate, who is an elders son (or was 10 years ago), booked a holiday to Magaluf, but told his parents that he was going on a ministry mission in the Scottish highlands. Trust me, he spent a lot of hours in the field....unfortunately for the WBTS, it wasn't the field ministry. You see, I went with him. I also put down that I would aux pioneer that month. I auxiliaried 72 hours that month; none were spent in the Scottish highlands, although a few were spent on me being de-virginitised.

I loved that month in the field.....

I guess this might be it , I do not have a schedule..

Keep Yourself In Gods Love Page 166, par 12"

"It is also imprtant to be honest with Jehovah's organisation when we answer questions in writing . For example when we report our activity in the ministry, we are careful not to falsify the facts. Similarly, when we fill out an application for some privilige of service we should never misrepresent the real state of our health or any other aspect of our record"

Wow! I am amazed that they have the nerve to admit that the most "honest" people are prone to lie on their reports...I note that they do not say to be careful not to make mistakes, but not to falsify the facts...If I were a cong publisher, I would feel my faith in my brothers slipping away fast. The whole point of the "New World Society" was that you could trust your brother, now they admit that one cannot trust all of them....

    Just like the world, eh?

PS . as for consequences.. I would have been thinking of Ananias and Saphira in the Book of Acts.

when we fill out an application for some privilige of service we should never misrepresent the real state of our health

That's the real important one. If you don't have perfect health, they sure don't want you in Bethel.

(Unless you're a hotshot lawyer, of course)
