Every year I ask her for a bigger TV, a real thin one, with lots of pixels. And every year I don't get it. But I will keep trying.

Last year, we each got $100 to spend on ourselves BEFORE Xmas, in addition to the little surpise gifts. Then we wrapped up our own gifts and acted like we were surprised in front of the family. It was bizzare for sure, but my wifey, daughter and me had fun with it.

"Wow! That's just what I wanted. How did you know?" lol

I wanted my freedom--this year I received my gift long before December 25--I hope you all get what you most want, too!

I wonder about Neil Young's fascination with Alabama.

Sylvia, Neil Young wrote and sang a song condemning the south called Southern Man with the following lyrics:

    Southern man
    better keep your head
    Don't forget
    what your good book said
    Southern change
    gonna come at last
    Now your crosses
    are burning fast
    Southern man

    I saw cotton
    and I saw black
    Tall white mansions
    and little shacks.
    Southern man
    when will you
    pay them back?
    I heard screamin'
    and bullwhips cracking
    How long? How long?

    Southern man
    better keep your head
    Don't forget
    what your good book said
    Southern change
    gonna come at last
    Now your crosses
    are burning fast
    Southern man

    Lily Belle,
    your hair is golden brown
    I've seen your black man
    comin' round
    Swear by God
    I'm gonna cut him down!
    I heard screamin'
    and bullwhips cracking
    How long? How long?

Lynyrd Skynyrd responded to Young's perceived arrogance with their own lyrics in Sweet Home Alabama:

Well, I heard Mr. Young sing about her
Well, I heard ol' Neil put her down
Well, I hope Neil Young will remember
A Southern man don't need him around anyhow

    It was a friendly rivalry.
