I am having some reservations about Barbara Anderson

I mentioned the conference in Chicago not as self-promotion but to change the subject so that everybody would see there were no hard feelings. After that, Jim wrote me to tell me he appreciated my words. This very small conference needs all the support it can get with or without me. If people think badly of me for advertising the conference, I'm sorry but it was my way of dealing with a sad situation.

Jim and I have exchanged many emails and he's gone now for short vacation. We had hoped this thing would cool down by the time he came back, but I can see it has not.

If some of you continue to have problems with what I do or say on his board, say what you will. You have freedom of expression.

what is your legacy JWoods? <leaving aside being an anonymous Internet jockey>

I could tell you, but then of course - I would have to kill you. Like I said - this came as a matter of difficulty for me - but the words had to be said. To clear my conscience from a possible "crises".

Other people who have posted on JWD/JWN giving information about BRCI and how to attend:

And even Blondie has been known to post info about that year's meeting. I don't think we all have or had some personal agenda, in fact I know we don't. I'm looking forward to seeing Barbara and Ros again and meeting coffee_black for the first time. I don't agree with all of everyone's beliefs but then I'm not expected to and I don't have to be part of it. I don't have to attend every segment either. What brings us together is being ex-jws and our experiences. It is 9/18 and 9/19 this year 2009.

I've seen good people get a bad rap for expressing their viewpoints.

Not to mention gang-banged and ridiculed for daring to put forward a dissenting view.

Please allow me to express my continued admiration, appreciation, and support to the Andersons. I think their bravery is without question, as is their motives and intent.

Barbara, I hope you will not take the occasional nay sayer too personally. I hope you realize that you already have, and continue to help thousands of people at a time, many of whom read your words here. So please do not be deterred.

“I was very put off by the Barbara Anderson reply in which she plugged her new promotional meeting.”

Have you considered this was Barbara’s attempt at turning people’s mind toward something more positive and away from the sad event that occurred?

Have you considered that the event Barbara plugged has about as much promotional value as yesterday’s newspaper (no offense to anyone)?

Barbara is not only one of the most ethical people I know, she is just plain sweet as a person, and so is her husband Joe. On the other hand, Barbara is a full-grown woman and she carries herself accordingly. I don’t see a thing in Barbara’s reply you cite except for trying her best to be positive.

freedom of expression is something very valuable.

and for better or worse the Internet delivers this value free of charge to anyone with a keyboard - Barb on the other hand has and continues to pay the true price of freedom of expression, unlike a lot of people on this board
