Mouthy, the problem with that argument is that if a lesson were need have been taught, then to whom is this lesson being taught?

Some say the angels, some say for a principle. No matter what, to subject others unwillingly to this nonsense is to play God. Whoops!

(Just because a being is smarter, more powerful or long lived, doesn't make that being morally upright)

This is what I mean by Stockholm Syndrome.

no, I do not believe - every fibre in my being shakes when i write or think that sentence - however for me

god=jehovah=evil manaical being that will smite me for any reason.

I believe in humans, i believe in good humans - it is what i strive to see, and what I strive to be.

    All you need, is love

Mouthy, if you want a private conversation, you'll have to PM or email.

Otherwise everything you or I say is up and open for discussion.

    had an interesting conversation
early one morning at the mid-point
    turn-around for a grueling 2800 mile,
5 day trip, so i was a bit punchy at best

the father of the jewish family
that had given us shelter the
    night before introduced me to
    the concept that there might/may
be a supreme being not interested
in 1) being a deity 2) the outcome
of the processes on a single mooned
planet in an unremarkable solar system

    i can believe that....

    I believe.

There are many things I cannot explain.

Still, I ponder: Why do we have a yearing for love? Why do we crave a good family life, good friends, a good marriage? Why do we universally scorn hatred?

I believe it's because we've been imbued with the need and desire for love by Someone. I believe that Someone is God.
