You can make a great satay without the meat, I have made it with grilled portobello mushrooms for friends before. It was good. Just get yourself some Tahini, Peanut Butter, Sesame Oil, Coconut Milk, Fresh Ginger, Garlic, a little cilantro (fresh) and some snap peas, red peppers, yellow peppers. (The added veggies make up for no meat, its very filling) It's great with Batsami rice. (Hot sauce, optional)

Heat a skillet to medium high and add two tablespoons of sesame oil. Add freshly grated ginger, (I like alot, depends on your taste) and minced garlic, (2 cloves) then add your grilled mushrooms, cut into large strips (makes it more meat-like) and your snap peas and peppers, saute for a few minutes until tender crisp. Add about a half cup of Tahini (peanut sauce) as you turn down the heat to medium, mix it all together, add your 1 can coconut milk, (try to drain the oil from the coconut milk as much as possible), add peanut butter to taste (alot of recipes don't require or use the peanut butter but I find a bit adds alot of flavor to it.) Add sea salt to taste. Add hot sauce for a little heat if desired.

Serve over a bed of rice and garish with chopped cilantro. Easy and done.

You could give up meat and vegetables and become a breatharian and just live on air.

    Plants have feelings also.

I am half making fun and half serious.

When I think about eating meat and chicken I feel bad. So I try not to think about it.

Which to me makes me walk around like a zombie in a trance.

I eat meat, but I also eat vegie burgers, vegie dogs and lots of beans. Maybe someday I will go vegetarian all the way.

Old habbits are hard to break.

Vegetarianism/Veganism can become very cultish. Check out their apostates as well as their supporters.

I have definately cut down on my meat intake - not because of the way animals were treated though. I started incorporating veggie&fruit juice (freshly juiced) and just eating more & a greater variety of veggies. Try soya burgers/mince/strips - we've got a fantastic soya brand called Frys - don't know if you get it there - they cover a whole range of goodies.

It's pretty easy these days to go vegitarian. Best bet is to just slowly change over. I know I can go for about month or so without eating any meat - then I might have a bit of sushi / fish / chicken.

    All the best with it.
