    Or...

Since you claim 1914 is pinpointed by prophecy, please show me the scripture that shows the Jews returned to Jerusalem in 537 BCE.

That would be interesting. Let's see the reaction of these JW on your video.

If the Bible explicitly forbids adding anything to scripture, why has your organisation put the word Jehovah into the new testament when it cannot be found in the original Greek manuscripts?

The WT claims it is the only channel throught which Jesus Christ speaks.

Its official view until 1929 was that Black people are an inferior people, a race of servants.

How can such a stance be justified in light of what the Bible states here? From The Message Bible:

Galatians 3:28 -29 In Christ's family there can be no division into Jew and non-Jew, slave and free, male and female. Among us you are all equal. That is, we are all in a common relationship with Jesus Christ. Also, since you are Christ's family, then you are Abraham's famous "descendant," heirs according to the covenant promises.

"If the "Faithful and Discreet Slave" is supposed to feed Christ's domestics, and the FDS is the group of 9000 anointed Jehovah's Witnesses, why do only 9 of them have any authority over the beliefs of Jehovah's Witnesses? What do the other 8991 members of the Faithful and Discreet Slave do?"

By the way, I love the one about "what does YOUR Christian conscience allow you to do?" That will blow the mind of the average Witness at your door.

I think questions on the blood issue are the hardest for a jw to defend. How can a jw take fractions if the storage of blood is not permitted? You would have to be ready to further reason on any question.

The society likes to pretend that at some point, magically, the fractions cease to be blood. That is actually a diversion tactic. Sticking to the fact that they are using stored blood and making them explain how that is permissable, is important.

There is no way to defend that from the Bible or from simple reasoning. That makes it the silver bullet question.

Did you know the GB sometimes debate things, present different interpretations, vote on things and only require a 2/3rd majority to make some change? So why is it that members of the Governing Body can dissent, argue and disagree amongst themselves and yet their anointed 'brothers' who are outside the Watchtower in a congregation are not allowed to disagree or dissent on anything coming from the GB?

If the FDS are all charged with teaching and they are all equally anointed, then why is all of the interpretation and doctrine controlled only by the GB and their committees? What if a humble member of the FDS in an ordinary congregation gave you a very convincing interpretation of something that was at odds with the Watchtower's interpretation? Is the holy spirit contradicting itself?

What is more important: truth or unity? Did you know that in a Court in Scotland the highest ranking members of the Watchtower admitted that even if something is false, it should be believed if it is promoted as truth, because the unity of the organisation is the paramount thing.

How could it be that the FDS were given authority over all Christ's belongings in 1919 when Jesus said that wouldn't happen until he arrives? Did you know that the Watchtower Society at Matthew 25:30 & 31 interprets Jesus arriving there as a yet future event?

Would you really want to worship a God who would massacre for all eternity 90% or more of humankind at Armageddon, with no hope of a resurrection? How is that reconciliable with being a God of love? Doesn't the Bible say that it is the Devil who is a manslayer, yet wouldn't Jehovah also be a global manslayer if he did that? Wouldn't it mean that the ransom sacrifice failed, was of little worth of Jehovah did that? Didn't Jesus say he came to save the world, not destroy it? Why would Jehovah resurrect billions of already dead unrighteous persons after slaying billions of unrighteous persons at Armageddon? Don't you see the monstrous contradictions in this?

If Jesus died for our sins, and yet was resurrected, how is it possible that the ransom for our sins was paid?

Our Sins = $1 million debt

Jesus' death = $1 million payment, therefore $0 debt remains

Jesus is resurrected and being "not dead", thus cancels the payment, and reinstates the debt.

God must have one helluva an accountant to work that one out.

Well, the "silver bullet" question that got my Mormon friend to think was the incredibly simple, "what if they're wrong?" It rather stunned her, and she couldn't stop thinking about it. Living this life tied up in rules that ruin marriages and families is pretty sad if this is all there is... and if they are wrong. I have also used it with my family, with some degree of success...

Great thread, V... looking forward to more.

Most JWs would say Jesus sacrificed a perfect human life countering Adam. Then he was resurrected in a different body.

It remains then that Jesus is a clone, not the original Jesus...
