I don't know you as a person; all I know of you is recent posts of yours that I have read here. But based on that small pool of information, I find this thread interesting because I've not seen you practicing the standards you are now chiding others about. Just the opposite, in fact.

There's a vast field of grey between black and white. Kindness is a good thing; so is an open mind. If you treat others with compassion and respect, you are likely to receive the same treatment in return.

I wish you well and hope you will stick around. There is much to learn here :-)

unfortunately, many here seem to think that just because you dont fit their agenda (and this applies to the higher ups too) that you are suddenly an "apologist" or something of that nature -- and TONS of assumptions are made as per your status, when really, it is irrelevant.

Seriously, Solace, can you not see the assumptions in your own statement? You are assuming many here have an "agenda" and are judging you. A few do and they make it very clear, but most don't as far as I can see. You talk about "status" and "higher ups". No one here has any special "status" that I know of (except for me, I'm a newly crowned empress! ) You can be one of my subjects if you like. I promise you, I have no agenda, other than to be worshipped by all!

my questions and responses may be blunt, but i never insult or mock anyone. its a huge difference really.

Is it possible to question a person's values or ideas without insulting them? I think so, its all in the spirit of progress and self-examination. If you cant take the heat, get outta the kitchen. However, mindless insults and mocking doesnt go ANYWHERE.

I just went and read through all the threads you have started and I honestly can't see what you are talking about. Everybody answered your questions respectfully from what I could see. Then you started this thread. If the posts where you were supposedly mocked are in someone else's thread, then post a link so we know what you are talking about. There are thousands of threads on this board. We can't go back looking through everyone trying to figure out what you are talking about.

If you have a specific complaint, then give us the specifics.

Yes, we have moderators, but they are kind of like Ministerial Servants. They aren't really any higher than us, they just have to do all the grunt work for no pay and little glory!

I guess hatred will ultimately destroy you, but for some of us we need it to just remove ourself form the org. Hate can be very motivating and mobilizing. don't discount what sheer hatred of something can do for you. It can bring you out of a depression . for some time it was all that kept me going, my hatred and bitterness with jws. but eventually do have to move on. For myself it was necessary for me to actually hate persons and what they had done to the point it forced me out. I don't think i would have left otherwise.

this board generally is a landing place for those who are questioning or recently left the org. a lot of us are bitter, and i personally am not going to apologize for feeling bitter. It is just my life they took away.

But eventually to move on I have had to let go of hate .I am still bitter. i hope my bitterness is safe here.

Due to this castrating PC BS society, we're told "Oh, he brother, don't be angry, man..peace love and donuts". Thing's like killing about a jonestown a month world wide with a stupid blood policy, covering up child molesting, destroying families SHOULD piss you off. If your all "Oh, it's OK, live and let die, let kids get raped, it's OK, at least I don't hate" THAT is the real monstrosity. Take your dead-end hippie-trippie bullshit elsewhere. When 'proof' is all over the place and you refuse to lift a finger into researching for yourself and you claim something doesn't ring true you will not look like the sharpest knife in the drawer. Because you are unaware of all the scandals, flip flops, etc.... and still make apologetic statements for the wt you do look like an idiot because you have not done your homework. You can see court documents on the sexual abuses, you can write to Scotland courts for those documents or see them scanned online, you can go directly to the UN official site and see the letter to jw's, there are countless sites that show the history of the wt since 1873 and the flip flops, unscholarly work, misrepresentation of authors & experts, etc..etc..etc... But you want to come here and stomp your feet and say 'it is not true! prove it!' what you don't understand is the horrific suffering some have gone through here with sexual abuse, physical abuse, mental abuse, loss of family, and what all have gone through in the spiritual abuse all at the hands of the wt. My jw has done the same thing over and over, 'prove it' and so I do, what happens next? He simply says 'well I don't believe it, my experience in the jw's has not shown that'. Simply because one individual has not exerienced one blatant abuse that means none of it happens? Yet there are ex jw's around the world who all have the same stories? Ex jw's from around the world cry out together in their losses? You don't seem to want to discuss and RESEARCH, you want someone else to do the work for you. Nobody here minds helping someone find info but when you come here and these topics have been covered over and over again and you have most obviously not researched anything but merely want to say you can't believe it, that is not discussing it or asking questions. If you have no idea how to research then say so and you will be given much support and help.

The above paragraph barely touches on the perversions the wt does to the Word of God and scripture twisting.

There are many who, by their passivity, dependency, fear and laziness, seek to be shown every inch of the way and have it demonstrated to them that each step will be safe and worth their while. This cannot be done. For the journey of spiritual growth requires courage and initiative and independence of thought and action. -(forgot to cite author, sorry)

How you can come to any of the ex jw boards and not be touched by the suffering and misery caused by being associated with the jw's is beyond my comprehension and I can only wonder what has happened to you to make you so cold and unfeeling. Must be that you were associated with the jw's and are mentally still 'in'.
