  I thought of this the other day but hope it is not true. I thought immediately that they are asking for that email-where he apologized- to show repentance. Seeing repentance and he's taken steps the "right a wrong" there may be lesser punishment. As in maybe private reproof.

  Sometimes after a period of time has passed, the sin( or crime in this case) is old, they don't see a need to punish the person. Time has punished them-or karma.. I hope that is not true, but with jws you never know. and since the statue of limitations has passed for this crime, they may not see it as a crime anymore.

  He should lose his poistion though. I would at least expect that to happen. But of course lots of elders are stepping down for other reasons, like stress for example. But if he loves his position and glories in it and then loses it because of the JC, then I guess you would gain some justice.

  Just read it [or parts thereof] Shell. Thanx for bumping it up tonight. If I was aware of this in the past, I had forgotton about this thread. I am so sorry for the many years you have had to deal with this pain.
