Getting back to topic once again, well sort of...CHL: This comment of yours
I'm a black man. For me saying that a gay person shouldnt get married is akin to saying a black man can't be considered a whole person and shouldn't read
It reminds me of a situation that happened some time ago. This gay man was just walking down the street one day (many many years ago). He was know to be gay but is not flamboyant or anything. Nevertheless a car came by with some black dudes in it and they yelled out "FAG" as they drove by. This guy remarked that it was ironic that they said that given the struggles and sufferings that black people have had to endure for thier rights and freedoms. One would have thought that they would have had a bit more respect for another persecuted minority, after all how would they feel if it had been a gang of white dudes driving by and yelling out the N word.
then i realized that it wasn't about straight or gay. it was about having a heart big enough to contain love for people. not straight people, not gay people, not males, not females, not the old, nor the young, neither the black or white or asian, but simply people. in that realization i was free.
You are indeed free. It's too bad that so many people not only reject this freedom but continue to deliberately enslave themselves. Education is the ticket. Only with education will people come to realize that there is so much more out there, that our lives could be so much more fulfilling. Look at us now, at our technology and knowledge...now imagine where we'd be if we hadn't suffered thru 800 years of the Dark Ages.
It's true what the Beatles said...all you need is love.
