Years of depair and negative outlet for a percieved ill logic which I had used against myself and knew no way of escape from save suicide but equally felt ensnared from doing so by those whom responsibilities loomed large over.
Those were a general daily feeling over so many years that often rendered me immobile inwardly and outwardly and which I recall forced me to reach a little further into places I daren't previously consider!;
There was a direct link to this forum on the "Beyond Jehovah's Witnesses" website that isn't up anymore; sad, because that was invaluable to me when I was first beginning to even allow myself to admit the dubs didn't have "the truth". It had very well-written information in a kind and non-hostile way. I especially liked the page describing the indoctrination process that all dubs who weren't born into it go through.
I visited all the ex-dub forums listed, but I kept coming back to this one because I thought it was done tastefully. Plus it was definitely the most active. Some of the topics I read were a great comic relief during the stressful time of waiting to DA, particularly the WT covers. I had never seen spoof WTs, and I literally doubled over in laughter until I couldn't breathe when I saw some of those. My all-time favorite is "Angels Watch You Poop". (Yeah, you've all seen it.)
After I had found out through research the truth about the WT, I felt in need of support so found JWD.

I was watching Link TV one evening and they showed "Suffer the Little Children" about JW policy in child molestation. I had not been a JW for many years but was still shocked. After that I looked online for Silent Lambs to learn more. The site was down, so I ended up at Rick Ross's for some reason. From there I linked to Randy Watter's site, FreeMinds,, and from there to here...

exwitless, I started out on JWB too. Xena told me about this board, and I ended up here after Timothy shitshut the board down. I miss that board and often wish I'd saved some of the posts and info.

The day after the JC disfellowshipping me I googled JWs and found this site - it was restricted at work so my first post, initially a few pages long and heartbroken, got lost, so it was just a title 'I have just been disfellowshipped'. I didn't make it back for another month and found that a few dozen strangers had offered me consolation and hope, and really touched me. I was still quite the JW at the time and if it wasn't for this site I'd have probably scratched and clawed my way to reinstatement by now, and I'd be deeply miserable.
I wanted to test my faith.
