Mormons believe that each man will be god of his own planet some day with a host of wives who are continually pregnant with spirit babies.

I don't want to vote for a man who thinks he is becoming a god. Or a member of a religion who thinks women should be subservient.

Man, I thought Mitt was just a Mormon. Turns out he is Mormon AND scum.

This site is so educational. Thanks you all! I just LOVE you!

Glen Beck [also a Mormon] has been decrying this thinking in the past few days on his show, and this morning on one of the morning yawns.

I would not be afraid of a Jew as president, or for that matter even someone a little more right than center religiously. But I view Mormon religion as a cult. It promotes a lesser view of women, just like the WTS. I would assume that most presidents would be part of the mainstream religion that dominates the nation - Christianity. Just like most leaders in the ME are Muslim. That seems normal. But I would be worried if a leftist/rightist fanatic was at the reins here or there.

Ask yourself - If you were still a believer in the JW doctrine, and it became acceptable to run for president, how would your mindset affect your decisions? Soon you would be promoting a lack of higher education, bloodless medicine, no abortion, and attempting to convert everyone who came into the Oval Office. Doubt it would be too different for a hard-line Mormon. The comparison to Kennedy is inaccurate in my opinion for a lot of reasons too.

Lets see..Ron Paul? Hilliary Clinton? Mitt Romney? hmmm.... Ron Paul may be TOO much and wont get elected anyway... Hilliary- she's a socialist cradle to graver... and a real b*itch from many accounts.

Mitt... If he gets elected I'd worry no more about him taking the lead from the LD than JFK took his lead from the Pope of Rome.

By most account his Dad did OK with Michigan in the 60's and Mitt did ok in a diverse liberal state like Mass...

His religion is the least of our worries.

I'd like John Edwards to win anyway.

Absolutley ! No cult religion needs to run my country, Mormons are no different than the witness and if a leader was into Islam ? That too would be out of line for our country. This country was founded on God the father and the Son Christ, not on Budda, Alla or whatever or whoever.

Why??? It would be gods will, part of his plan.

This sounds like a baptist. I was once a baptist and they tried to tell me that God decides who is president ! I was pissed to say the least so I asked everyone of them in the Sunday school class that this was brought up in. I said that if everyone here believe that God decides who is our leaders then right now reach into your wallets and pull your voters registration card out and rip it up because if God decides who is going to be president then we really do not need to vote Do We ? Well none of them complied to my request. Go Figure !

Imagine a Jehovah's Witness becoming President! I'd bet they'd make an exception and not DF the President.

You would think it should be illegal that a JW could not run for President because to do so would mean their disfellowshipment. There should be a law against this.

I'd vote for Herd from the GB.

    I would not be leery.

I would try to evaluate the candidate based on his character and positions on the issues.
