Relish the freedom of mind your mom has given you. You certainly have reason to 'rise up and bless her'. As for your desire to know what others think of religion, I think that is admirable, but you should take the gift she gave you and find your own way. There are literally trillions of things in this world for you to learn about in a lifetime. Should any of those things you learn speak back to you of God, then so be it.
You have a whole world, young padawan, dig in!

I felt exactly the same when i found out it wasnt the troof. I felt totally lost like the ground had been pulled out from under me and i was understandably very upset.
This board has been great in supporting me through my recovering from it all and i know you'll get loads of great advice here.
