The smell of the woods in west central Wisconsin during Indian Summer where my father used to take me trout fishing with him when I was about 4-5. I just learned recently what plants perfumed the air there, monarda is the most prominent. A very dried herb, spicey sleepy lazy smell. monarda is also called Bergomont, but is not the citrus bergomont. So the smell is very much like real bergomont, used in Earl Grey Tea, but also slightly like dried oregano or marjoram. In this memory, I remember that the leaves were starting to turn, and we walked through a patch of nettle that was taller than him, I was little at that time so I thought that was cool. That's also when I learned how to walk through a patch of nettle without getting stung.

When I smell sandalwood I think of my granny.

The smell of a fireplace burning outside reminds me of windy training rides on my bike.

The smell of a baby makes me feel peaceful and content.

    Old Spice.....men.

I love the smell of first rain on the pavement.

Baking cookies.......takes me back to the days I would have fresh baked cookies for my kids when they came home from school. I miss that and now days it makes me cry.

My neighbors cooking odors......boy they must make some good eats over there! I tell hubby all the time to go next door and see if we can eat with them at dinner time when he asks me what for dinner! LOL

Fresh cut grass, I love that smell.
