Claire and I wish you ALL the very best for a wonderful day and evening. Sorry we can't be there but I know even better now that my decision to hold back was the right one! The virus has been up and down like a yo-yo and, quite frankly, the travelling alone would make me more tired than I already am - but there's always Scotland next year

We would dearly have loved to meet you, too! We simply hate cancelling, but there was nothing we could do. In fact, I didn't even know for sure if I wouldn't be admitted to hospital this week! As it happens, I'm doing far better than I was last week - but the virus is still there (though retreating!).

I know Claire is hoping the family can get out to a local restaurant this weekend instead - but my appetite resembles that of a child's at the moment - but buffets are good as I can take what I can eat
