In our area, two congregations merged and built a "quick-build" KH. One of the old KHs was sold to a Church, the other is a private residence.
Not only is this hypocrisy, it's also "indian-giving". These halls were "dedicated to the exclusive use of the most high God". So sacred that the information board couldn't be used to post Thank You cards or Wedding Invitations without the approval of the body of elders.

A Kingdom Hall in Manhattan (NY, USA) was sold to the Latter-day Saints. There were pictures and a write-up on it in the paper. They didn't say how much money had to change hands.
