I have been trying to open the thread using various link

    • link to my posts on the thread
    • link in Info on Rutherford
    • link in Best of Farkel

I am getting an error message on eachy one.

Can anyone else open this thread? or have a link that opens it.

I'd post my links but they aren't working

I would hate to see all that info lost in cyberspace somewhere

I received an error message the three ways I tried to open it. Berta and Bonnie were easily found on google, but their link brought back the same error message. I was able to read the google cache:

    We should alert Simon.

Yes perhaps Simon can retrieve it

If it is truly corrupted it would be a shame

I just went through my old files and saved 28 pages of it (I think that was the last) plus all of the photocopied documents Phew

I was hoping this day would not come

That was by far the best collaborrative research people on this site ever did, although the one in Russell was up there too.

Oh jeez, that would soooo suck!! Lots of work went in there, plus info from larc that can't be found anywhere else.

I have it saved leolaia (glad you saw this)

If Simon can't fix it I can turn the whole thing into a pdf file a big book

I was setting off doing the saving process too with Google caches...is that what you did? What format is it saved as?

Sheesh, how much editing work would it take to transform it in to a lulu book? Not much, I imagine.

leolaia, I am falling in love with language all over again. I picked up an issue of "Discover" on holidays (Sept 2007), and read an article on Steven Pinker and his work on verbs. His search started with a simple question, "How do children learn verbs?" I'm itching to read some of his stuff now.

    "The Language Instinct"

    "How the Mind Works"

    "Words and Rules"

    "The Blank Slate"

    and

"The Stuff of Thought: Language as a Window Into Human Nature"
