I'm trying to remember if there's any "statute of limitations" on stuff like this. I remember reading a thread about cradle-robbin', adulteratin', JF Rutherford's alleged affair with his much younger "nutritionist". According to the thread, she supposedly came forward with a confession in her twilight years and good ol' Nathan H. Snorr told the local stooges to just sweep it under the carpet.

I'll see if I can find it.

p.s. Think long and hard about anything you say. You can never un-ring the bell.

Well the old saying in the Hall is.............. "If you see your Brother or Sister doing something that is questionable, then it is your responsibility to go to the Elders". It is your responsiblity to help keep the congregation clean, and you are only following the guidelines as the Society states.

No, Proph, I haven't made up my mind. I was just laughing that I'm not alone here in wanting to expose the hypocrite and drag her good name through the rotten, infested machine that she herself helps to propagate.

I think about her husband and their child and how they would feel. And I imagine myself finding out something of this magnitude about my husband so late in the game.

Then I think about my own sister and dream of her eyes being opened to her own stupidity in allowing herself to be influenced by such a piece of filth.

Then I think about how other people's eyes would be equally opened because so many people look up to this sister and she has been the queen shunner of so many young ones who have been df'd for lesser crimes...

    Need I go on?

What did she do that was so bad that the wife wouldn't do it. I mean Oral, Anal, or was it something most people don't do?

After reading your further posts, I just know that really, I think I would have to go to her and tell her about your conversation with the man. I would want to see her sweat, and then ask her just how she goes about shunning others when you know what she has done. Then just stand there and look at her, and wait for an answer.

Same thing if it has to be done over the phone. Maybe you could even tape the conversation, and send it to your sister, even if you did not intend to turn it over to the elders, and told your sister this. Then sis would either have to live with it, and still shun you, or she would have to make a decision and be the one to wreak havoc with this family.

I feel that after the way my family was treated by this organization, and seeing the truth that their image is their ultimate concern, the gloves are off.

Found it! It was in the "Best of" section, buried deep in the "Best of Farkel". The thread was entitled "Rutherford Exposed: The Story of Berta & Bonnie"

Here's the excerpt I was thinking of.

"A good friend of mine was an elder in the hall in Long Beach, California, long after da judge?s death, is the source of this information. She requested that the elders (my friend being one of the elders) meet with her (she was in her 70?s), because she wasn?t sure if she would receive her heavenly reward. The elders met, and she told them the relationship she had with Rutherford over a 15-year period! She even showed them movies of the two of them, hugging and kissing, shortly before dropping this "bomb shell!"

"Anyway, the elders made contact with headquarters, and Nathan Knorr met with Birda [her name was actually "Berta"], while at a District Convention in California, shortly afterward. Nathan Knorr, with some other officials present, said that they long knew of the adulterous relationship, but for some reason, never said anything to anyone about it; they also told her that because this was so far in the past, not to worry about it! (Is this a double standard or what?)"

If you want to read all the semi-substantiated, sordid details of da Judge's relationships with his very young, very female, "dieticians" here's the link:

I miss Farkel's posts. I know he's a cantankerous old cuss but I really enjoyed his style. Wish there were still some JW apologist dragons to slay around here.

It is possible that if you "spilled the beans" you
could end up harming innocent individuals (child & husband)
    and destroying a family.

When that child grows up who knows?

Remember, be careful about this ticking time bomb. You may
not get the results that you desire.

    Respectfully,

My thoughts are still divided. Nobody deserves the treatment that the WTS tells the
elders to dish out. She dishes out pretty badly herself.

I like what Quandry has to say. Confront her, tape it if possible for your sister.
Never go to the elders. Let the JW's decide what they want to do.
