The vicious gossip in this thread is UNBELIEVABLE! You guys ought to be ashamed. You're acting no better than them.

Eh, you can take the Apostate out of the JW, but you can't take the JW out of the Apostate

So many cases of double standards, so little time. I recall a situation of adultery, it was kept very , but they received only private reproof. They dumped spouse, married other person , showed up at kh with new spouse by in tow, and all assume the x spouse is the 'bad" person. They were protected and even got gifts. So much for fair play.

Reminds me of a Pioneer married couple that I knew years back. Young, smart, zealous , they were the apple of the congregation's eye. Many years on and the husband has a moral lapse and is d/f'd and quickly re instated , they stay married.

I heard a while after, on the elders grapevine, that they were "dealing with a situation" regarding them. Apparently they confessed to having had sex before they were married and never let on to anyone. That means that all that time when we looked up to them, it was all a sham. However, in view of the time that had passed and their confession, no action was taken , not even a judicial reproof.

So I don't think any action would be due against your person now. and if she denied it , they would all believe her..

I've read most of this thread but this is what jumped out at me:

Do you know that she refuses to allow her son to attend public school, refuses to allow him to be vaccinated and will not allow him to associate with ANY children, even children in the congregation because she doesn't want any bad association for him?

I'm afraid there's something going on with this poor child. People that were abused often turn into abusers themselves. Maybe a call to social services with suspicions is in order, not stating abuse is suspected but that the child is being isolated by a cult. It's a bad situation all the way around and I can't think of any solutions.

Emma, I hadn't considered that but it is a possibility. It makes me sad for the child. But he needs to have a life. Poor little thing.

As far as us gossiping ... it's not really gossip when you don't know the people involved. It's no more than reading a celebrity rag.

    bluesapphire,

Just a thought...perhaps only one action is needed to get results for you and your sister...Phone the Sister Pioneer to warn her that her old so-and-so exlover is spreading the word that she is the cause of his present problems, then hang up.

    Love and Laughter,

Speaking of which, he's out with my hubby right now. I hope my hubby talks him into spilling the beans. I failed earlier when they were at my house. In fact, he started back-tracking. I didn't let him get away with it though. They BOTH told me the same stuff.

Send to her an anonymus envelope with a picture of the vehicle in question and on the back of it "Remember me?"

Do it once a week for a couple of months, it may rattle her cage.

    Here's the update:

The vehicle has long been sold. This was over 10 years ago, mind you.

My husband and I hung out with the "brother" and when he made this comment,

"I went to the elders and confessed 16 years worth of crap!"

I jumped at the opening and said,

"Well, you neglected to tell about Tracey and the 4Runner!"

    This was his reply,

"Well, that was so long ago. What good would it do?"

Talk about denial! He confesses all sorts of stuff from drug use to seeing prostitutes to having premarital sex with his wife... But he omits this? So I said,

"So she's just going to get away with it? Why does she always get away with everything? She's the most hypocritical person I've ever met in my life!"

And this was the bottom line.

"Well, I've gone up to her and said, 'Hey Tracey' (he said it in a kind of seductive way) and she acts like we were never close. So one day I said, 'Don't forget our little experience.' and she says, 'I don't know what you're talking about!'"

    BINGO!

He didn't tell on that because it would open up a pandora's box and she would deny the whole thing! What a fliggin piece of crap! Although it seemed impossible to do, she sunk even lower on the food chain in my opinion.

This whole experience is draining and to top it all off, we decided to cut this dude off our list of friends after he came on to me. So, hopefully someday I will have the opportunity to tell my sister this whole story. But for now it's a dead end.

All I can say is WOW on that one.

This story actually pains me to hear she got away and will continue to get away with it. This makes me want to do like undercover work and get her disfellowshipped.
