    NO KIDDING BR. APOSTATE??????!!!!!!! YIKES!!!!!

That reminds me of the time when there was a mini redecorating war going on in our hall.

I kid you not, each week the hall was re-painted a different color! No one knew who the war was being fought by. It was all anonymously painted each time at night. One week it was pink on the inside, the next week it was blue on the inside with blue marbleizing on the pillars. The third week it was tan and orange.
Finally, the P.O.'s wife announced to all us sisters on the fourth week that the tan/beige would be the final color AND THATS THAT!!!!

Oh my God! I guess I missed out on alot of grief by staying out of the insider loop!

We have some interesting stuff going on right now. About six years ago, a 19 year-old girl married a 30 year-old brother. She immediately became pregnant...twice. She wanted more "things," and he could never quite provide for her in the manner in which she thought she should become accustomed. So, she divorced him and was disfellowshiped. Then, she started living with this other guy, but he didn't have any money as he was in the military. But, she had a baby with him too. Then, she moved out of his apartment, into another guys apartment, and she had another baby. We aren't sure who his father is. But, the baby was white, so we THINK we know who the father is. BTW, her first husband was black, and she is white, so we are pretty sure the first two kids are his.

So, now he is "dating" a sister in our congregation. His ex-wife gets wind of it, and now SHE has begun attending the meeting again...with some guy (we aren't sure who he is) and her two kids. But, her first husband treats her other kids as if they were his own. So, he sits on one side of the hall, with his kids, and this sister he is dating. She sits on the other side of the hall, with the "guy" and her kids. But, if this brother so much as goes to the bathroom, she will stomp, and I do mean STOMP, across the hall and rip her kids out of this sister's arms.

Then, the kids start crying because she is pretty mean to them despite them being her children. It's a HUGE scene every meeting... Then, her other kids want to sit with the brother, because they are confused as to who their father is.... If they can't, THEY start crying....

Yes, in the summer of '86 a young brother came to the meeting drunk and and unkempt. Needless to say the brothers dragged him out of the kingdom hall. He was rumored to be going through rough times. Actually, I knew. He was my friend and had a drinking problem. He also told me he had his worldly girlfriend pregnant. It was gossip fodder for weeks. Of course, rumors about us being friends were around, so the elders interrogated me about his behavior; I learned from my previous JCs to keep my mouth shut, so I said I have no idea. It would have been Christlike and compassionate if they would have talked to him and help him out, but no, they just disfellowshipped him. It's always about keeping appearances. Sadly, I found out many years later he had committed suicide in '92. I feel very bad about this particular incident since I didn't get to say goodbye to him when I left in '88. May he rest in peace.

oh, and another one. This happened in a different hall, and I was already DF'ed. This cute young new bethelite kid fainted during his number 4 talk. I was at the back row obviously. and at first, it looked like he was leaning to grab something, but he went all the way to the floor and banged his head really loudly. it all happened so quickly, that your brain doesn't get for the first seconds what happened.

so the next time the guy goes to the platform, people were ready. he fainted again, but this time they cought him before his head hit the wood. Poor sweet kid, he was so humiliated.

ok... gonna ramble here, don't need to read the rest. I just feel compelled to talk a bit more about the kiddo. his dad (young fellow in his forties) died of pancreatitis some months later. he went home for the funeral, and when he came back, he was a tough cookie. he fainted no more and banged and banged against DF'ed sinners. I was in the book study that he directed and gosh... was he hard on me and what hurts more, my elderly parents. I suppose his way of coping was trying to be this excellent bethelite. he tried hard to be up to the standards.

but I will always remember the sweet kid who came from the country, how vulnerable and young he looked.

We had outbursts at assemblies. The one time that it happened we couldn’t really hear what the guys was saying, but as we looked with our binoculars, we could see that it was my cousin! Woops. He thought he was a prophet (when he would go off his meds) and would yell things at the guys giving talks about what they were saying was wrong. We only found out what he was saying after the fact when we talked with my aunt. Needless to say, the attendants were very quick to escort him away...

I posted this the other day on another thread. Just thought I'd post it again for y'all...

One time the C.O. was visiting and he was at the front of the hall after the mtg. He was coming down the 2 steps from the platform all smiling and ready to shake hands with another guy. In doing so, he tripped and said “Jesus Christ!” Then he’s like, “sorry about that”.

We all just kind of looked at each other and laughed later…

How could I forget the '89 October Loma Prieta Earthquake in California?
We were serving right smack dab in the center of the chaos.
It occurred around 5pm I recall. It was a Tuesday and a meeting night.
Like dutiful dubs we drove to the KH for the meeting at 7pm.
The P.O. said since the lights were out and reports of many homes were damaged, we, as elder's families should instead go to every brother and sister's home in our Book Study to check on their welfare and assess their need. So this we did. It was still light outside and we made our way through the rubble of our town to check on everyone.

    Pretty exciting!

A sister had a heart attack while giving the #3 talk, and she died on the spot.

I'm 100% serious, and according to some that were there, it was a very ugly scene. Her son was there when it happened. The brothers gave her CPR, but it didn't work.

Something else happened in that congregation, but it was not that long ago, so I better not say.
