People who live around here: think of what you want to make/bring: salads, potato salad, beans, desserts, etc. If you have a large cooler, that would probably be helpful to hold cold drinks. If you have any long folding tables, we could use those too, as well as newspapers to spread out on the tables for the mudbugs.

People from out of town: think about bringing drinks, rolls, plates, napkins, cutlery, a package of hot dogs and buns, chips, salsa, ice, paper towels, plastic cups, etc. There are several grocery stores in Elsewhere's neighborhood.

When in doubt bring beer or wine or soda.

Never can go wrong with drinks.

Elsewhere - thanks for the PM. I don't think you really want me to sit on your lap - lol. I am a BIG girl and it might break!

    Grown-up "big" or big "big"?

Codeblue - I can't wait to meet you either! I hope I can live up to expectations whatever they are! Looking forward to meet you to Hambeak! You sure you can be spared by MIL for cooking the ham though!Elsewhere - big in spirit and in body! Not in maturity at all, I'm afraid - but hey I have five weeks to work on that. I tend to get like an excited puppy (not in the humping the leg sense though in case you're worrying)! I absolutely cannot wait to try IPSEC's famous crawfish - I don't think I ever have before and I adore and go into eulogies when a good bit of seafood passes my lips (or just about anything else that tastes good actually). However I will just get embarrassed if you all stare at me and might have to scurry off to salivate in private! In fact I already can't sleep - I keep waking up wondering what I am excited about and then remembering and thinking of all the people I want to speak to and take photos of. Big Tex - I reckon I will go for the beer/wine option and ask Arrowstar to run me by the liquor store on the way. Or maybe Hemp Lover and I will make something weird the night before - who knows? I can't wait to find out what mood Sparklet is in so as we can start guessing what she's going to make!! But then how can I possibly know which foods represent which moods - maybe we should start a thread on that?!

"hyped" is like THE understatement of the year. Every waking moment so far has been dedicated towards my personal preparation for the event of the year. I too am studying away so I can be ahead when I leave so I can have a good time and not have to worry about late assignments. Terribly difficult to concentrate on the task at hand when my mind keeps drifting Texas-ward though!

Young, free, single, vivacious and rampaging around Texas - you're going to have the time of your life, Crumpet!

I know you are speaking from experience! LOL! I keep forgetting I am single and turning down dates though! But I shall rampage away don't you worry! Like the Bride from Kill Bill says: "I went on, what the movie advertisements, referred to as a roaring rampage...I roared and I rampaged and I got bloody satisfaction"

Stilla, honey, you can come to Texas ANYTIME and we'll get a crowd scene goin' for ya! We are party people down here! Maybe in July when Englishman and Her Ladyship come to Texas would work out better for you?

Okay, hambeak, you take care of the ham and I'll bring roast chicken and some other stuff (to be determined later).

    Nina
