Zico is on target. Being an NGO isn't the issue. There many NGOs who are not "associated with the Department of Public Information" ( DPI ), at the UN.

Thats the point. They were applied for and recieved status as "NGOs in association with the Department of Public Information" at trhe UN.

To do so they met the criteria. They kept this secret. They lied about it when caught.

If there was nothing wrong why didn't they tell eveyone when it was going on and especially when it was exposed in the Gaurdian?

You should check out the Gaurdian article that started it all.

The Watchtower Society is headquartered in New York City, home of some of the worlds best and biggest libraries. Not only that but they have branches all over the world, which would give them access to any library in the world. This reminds one of Adam and Eve in the garden of Eden. They had access to every tree in the garden. They could have gone to any tree for food. Jehovah had given them a simple little instruction at Gen. 3:3 - But as for [eating] of the fruit of the tree that is in the middle of the garden, God has said, 'You must not eat from it, no, you must not touch it that you do not die.' The Society has behaved in the exact manner as Adam and Eve, Jehovah put restrictions on one thing, the United Nations. Any library in the world was at their finger tips. But they couldn't resist the urge to touch the forbidden UN Library. Which, all of us here know, that it wasn't just for a library card but even if it was, it was a simple command to not touch it. They were told by Jesus you are supposed to flee when you just catch sight of the disgusting thing that causes desolation. They didn't flee, and they didn't not touch it. They ate of the forbidden fruit. They have coupled themselves with the one organization that we were instructed to leave alone. By their own words they condemned other religions for touching this forbidden thing and then they did the same thing that they condemned others for doing. Adam and Eve had every tree availble to fill their need, just as the Society had every library at their disposal. Yet, that wasn't enough. The consequences of which are the same as those in Genesis.

Revelation 14:9-12 tells us what happens to those who commit spiritual adultery with the Beast.

Concerning the many Awake articles quoted above, they may seem innocuous. But keep in mind that one of the functions of an NGO is "disseminating information and mobilizing public opinion in support of the UN and its Specialized Agencies. Association with DPI constitutes a commitment to that effect."

Let it now be known the lengths to which the Watchtower went to inform its international readership of the UN's programs and activities. But, by no means are the quotes above the full extent to which the organization has disseminated information to legitimize the UN's claim to rule the world. The above is only a partial listing taken solely from the Awake over the past 15 years only. At any rate, let the public record above approximate the depth of the Watchtower's spiritual prostitution with the United Nations.

Skeptics are urged to examine the 2005 WT Library and see for themselves. By the way, you might also count the number of scriptures quoted or cited in these articles as it may very well surprise you just how few they are.

The UN was so impressed with one WT AWAKE article that it appears on their website:

J, one extra point to add to this thread is that associated NGO's have to 're-apply' for membership every four years. Showing that they are PROMOTING the UN, and STILL meeting the criteria for membership. They did this in twice. It was also a lie that you had to be associated to gain access to the library, this only became necessary after 9/11.

    Hi Jeremiah, Here's an article from the 1979 WT 1/1 30-31, 2004 CD Here's a excerpt:

    *** w79 1/1 p. 30 Questions from Readers ***

    Questions from Readers

    • Is it true that for religious reasons Jehovah’s Witnesses may not become members of the YMCA (Young Men’s Christian Association)?

In joining the YMCA (or United Nations) as a member a person accepts or endorses the general objectives and principles of the organization. He is not simply paying for something he receives, such as when buying things being sold to the public at a store. (Compare 1 Corinthians 8:10; 10:25.) Nor is his membership merely an entry pass, as when a person buys a theater ticket. Membership means that one has become an integral part of this organization founded with definite religious objectives, including the promotion of interfaith. Hence, for one of Jehovah’s Witnesses to become a member of such a so-called "Christian" (or UN aka Beast) association would amount toapostasy.

Some individuals have on occasion not become members but have paid a onetime admission fee, viewing this as simply paying for a commercial service available. Even in this regard it is wise to consider whether this course will adversely affect the consciences of others.—1 Cor. 8:11-13.

Did the WTS consider the consciences of other's?
Did they really follow their own priciples as set out in the YMCA article, when dealing with the UN? Or, did they have other motives in becomming members of the UN? which motive's show a lack of faith in their God Jehovah. Just the fact the're a corporation shows a lack of faith in God. Because they became a corporation for legal protection, which shows they really don't trust their God to deliver them from evil or direct their affairs. They rely on the State for their protection not God. Acadian
