They will never say-"don't go to xyz.com" . At least they are smarter than the newspapers who report on a John being arrested at the corner of so-and-so streets for patronizing ladies of the night. The following week all the good citizens of the community just have to investigate for themselves and business is booming for these girls as a result of the newspaper story.

China has mamanged to do a deal with Google to block out unwanted websites- Google will agree to any deal for $$$. China and knows that unfiltered knowledge from the Internet will lead to an overthrow of the present government. No doubt the society will have to set up their own ISP to provide safe approved and filtered internet service in the JW's homes. They gave up trying to control the wikipedia JW articles. They will give up on JW's policing their own surfing and will attempt to control it for them.

I've read quite a few other religious magazines(I nab the ones that the docs get and never read) and they are putting out the same message about the internet. I have never read an article about .......being aware of apostacy from these mags. The JW message is fanatical about apostacy compared to other religions IMHO

I found their articles softer, trying to reach the heart and has compassion for the victims of child sexual abuse. I would be drawn to what they ask, instead of the feelings that come when the GB sends out a message. Judgement, curiousity and guilt.

I had wanted to post the articles from the mags months ago, but only way was to type them out. (lazy me)

Yes read two weeks ago, Internet, chat rooms, pornography, apostate sites. This time they mentioned that it is not just a PC or even a laptop we should worry about but because of wireless technology and palm pilots, mobile phones etc, we can be in a priavte place (even rest rooms) and get internet access

the World Wide Web has got the GB really worried. Illustrated by our PO that it is no secret that it is called World Wide Web - beacuse like a spiders WEB it can catch and trap us and eat us alive
