It says in one word "Yeah, I used to believe that, but now I know better."

I LOVE THIS!!!! What a succinct way making your point.

I, too, consider "apostate" a JW label and Tower doesn't frighten me any longer. It means to me, only, that I escaped and am thankful for my courage. Yes... it is a badge of courage!

Yes I am the bad apostate. Does not bother me to use the word here on JWD or to use the term with others that have left the BORG but it does piss me off when JW's use the term on me.

Yes,many don`t mind the term apostate..I find it repulsive..WBT$ would like to label us all apostate..I think the term apostate is repulsive..The WBT$ is apostate to thier own teaching`s..The WBT$ is an example of what they profess to detest most..By thier own moral yardstick, they are the immoral of the immoral...OUTLAW

I am not defined by being apostate from the WT, but it sure is a big part of who I am today- Apostate Kate. Kinda like Calamity Jane. Don't fence me in man.

What doesn't kill ya makes ya stronger...

I think I'll make myself a t-shirt; Apostate Kate future bird food.

As Sunspot said, JW's very reason for being is to make "APOSTATES" of others who are not JW's. It is a very powerful buzz word that they use to describe those who have seen through the sham and rejected it

I was branded an apostate before I even left the witlesses predominantly because I was asking 'apostate questions' for whatever that means.

Nowadays they can label me in whatever way they like, they do not continue to have any power over me and if they prefer to believe that free thinking is apostasy then so be it.

My wife has made it quite clear that she views 'apostates' as bad people.

She is quite indescriminate. She looked down on me for looking at ex-Mason websites when the local head honcho invited me to join.

According to her, all ex's are just muckrakers and are not to be trusted.

She has hidden two ex-Moonie books I have just finished reading.

She says that she will not be watching "Ticket to Heaven" a DVD I have just bought.

    She is an Apostate Anglican.

I have been called a "dangerous apostate" by jws in my area, and I am very happy about it. It tells me that the things I am doing, such as the ex jw website I run, are annoying them. I would be far more concerned if they weren't bothered abd stopped calling me an apostate.

I am an atheist anyway, so if there is a god, I have certainly left him well behind me.
