I know, as most of us do, the relief you feel once you no longer have the fear of the elders. They act and for believers they are, the final word to your salvation. When I look back, the real fear was of being caught at something and losing the approval of the only friends you were allowed to have. To be honest, your story would scare the heebee jeebees out of most witness', but the real truth has set us free.
You know that once they left they engaged in "Confidential" talk about what's really wrong and bothering you. What ever rumor is flying, or the latest crap said about you, will be brought up by brother accompanying elder to the new CO. Then they will agree to keep an eye on you. I've been there.

One time before I quit going all together an Elder called my house and wondered if he and the CO could stop by and see how I was doing. I told him, "No thanks." very politely. I could tell he wasn't expecting that answer, because he stumbled all through inviting me to the next evening's meeting.
You did a fantastic job with your situation.

When you guys talk about CO, do you mean Congregation Overseer OR Circuit Overseer?

nowadays the co is the circuit overseer. The congregation overseer or servant is called the po, presiding overseer.
CO = Circuit Overseer. There is not congregation overseer.
PO = Presiding Overseer - that could be likened to a congregation overseer, although the title congregation overseer isn't used.
