And people wonder why I'm so addicted to Fests???

I just got off the boat this evening, but went up to see my sister for a few hours, so I'm just in after a 1600 mile round trip in the car.

I had a wonderful time, as usual. Ian and Claire were fantastic hosts, and WHAT a great bunch of people! As usual It was difficult to speak to anyone for more than five minutes at a time, and there were some that I barely got to say "Hi" to, so I apologise for that.

KK certainly wins the prize for the most "engaging" costume, and I was thanking my lucky stars that she didn't drink RedBull, as I ended up sitting by her on the 30/40s table in the corner of the restaurant (but that's another story or three). Nearer the door was the 50+ table, and in-between was a 20/30s table. I don't know how it happened like that, but I think I'm right in saying that's roughly how it worked out. Regardless there was plenty of mingling and a good time appeared to be had by all!

Time to hit the sack, but I'm looking forward to seeing a few more photos during the next few days, too.

I was sat at that table. (plus Eddie C's lads!)

As you say - all top quality company no matter how old or young we all were.

I pity those couples not with our gang who turned up probably expecting a quiet romantic meal - boy they sure got a shock!!

I've been reading through this thread, and I'm so envious of you all, it sounds like you had such a wonderful time, and I wish I could have been there to share it - well, definitely next time. I'm really happy it went so well, and I am so looking forward to meeting you all sometime soon.

Yes, I noticed a couple of those. And when I made the introductory toast, one couple not with us was just on the periphery. I bet they wondered what the heck they'd landed in!

Thanks, Emo. You made me laugh!!

    Hi katie,

I was really sorry to miss it, but I'm glad I talked Trev into it, he wasn't happy about leaving me, but I know he enjoyed it. He's put his foot down with me today, and ordered me to rest, so I'm staying here until he gets home from work, probably 6 ish, then we'll go to the hospital together.

Hopefully, the proposed apostanoodle will come together, and we'll all meet in Birmingham in the new year. Trev says he can help organise that, he knows a couple of great pubs in Birmingham, and we're only about 35 miles away from there anyway.

Hi, me too. Glad you all had a great time. I've been to 6 apostfests now but couldn't make this one. Meanwhile, the cold I have has me diagnosed with asthma at age 35! I was a bit shocked but am starting to be able to breath again with medication.

Oh Ballistic - Asthma? You poor thing. What a thing to get at your age.

Such a shame too, cos you were top totty when I saw you, and now you are damaged goods (who wants to take on a wheezy old bloke?) Youre not going to be able to exercise so you'll be getting a beer belly and man boobs. You will have to carry a man bag round with you to keep your inhalers in.

But look on the bring side, Im sure you still have a nice personality!

hehe - you seem to have that nack of complimenting and insulting at the same time like my g/f. Anyway, the virus which I'm on antibiotics for has triggered an asthmatic reaction closing up my lungs, which happened the last few colds but I never went to a doctor for it. So hopefully I wont have to carry around inhalers, just something to look out for, and I'm giving up smoking again (pick up the zyban prescr. on Thursday).
