Hi. I have been a loooong time lurker on this board. I want to get in on the action now!! I was a JW for nearly 25 years. The whole time I was in I knew it wasn't right. I felt brainwashed and controlled. It was my husband who wanted to be a JW and raise our children that way, and I felt I had no choice. I basically gave up my family and friends for the org, and am just now regaining them. My entire family, including my husband, are now out of the org, although my son has alot of residual trauma left. We have not officially DA because of the JW that work for us, we need to slowly replace them before we do that. I would like to tell my whole story soon. Right now, I am just glad to be out and able to enjoy life for the first time in years. Thank you everybody for all the great info/experiences I read everyday! It has helped confirm our decision time and time again!

I look forward to being a part of the board!

Welcome, ZIL! I can hardly wait to read more of your story. But be careful about posting so much detail that you could be identified by it.

    Respectfully,
