An elder once asked me (I was 19 years old then) if I was masturbating as a retort to some of the questions I was having about the FDS. They always reply with anger against the person instead of replying to the questions he is raising. Such are dictatorial organisations everywhere.

These stories are outrageous! What filthy minded voyeuristic, pathetic rejects they are! I guess this is like watching or hearing porno to them.
If I were in a judicial committee because I committed "immorality" of any sort and said I was sorry and the wiseguys asked me how many times and how and where and all the other details, I would say "you don't need to know these details you perverts, isn't it enough that I am sorry".
Then I would get up and leave.

On a slightly different track but nonetheless personal:
After going through the baptism questions the elders asked if I was really married to my (then-) husband. They wanted to see the marriage certificate! I told them that I was indeed married and no, I wouldn't show them the marriage certificate because it contained information concerning my spouse who was not the least bit interested in JW's.
They baptized me anyway.

Greedawn, I had the same question asked of me when I started questioning the WTS. An elder asked if I was masturbating, and suggested that I was questioning the WTS so that I could justify carrying out some deep seated unchristian desires.
We could start a new thread "Are all apostates masturbating perverts?"

No, my mother was not in the room with me. And to this day, I swear that when I glanced over at one of the elders, he was RUBBING his hand over his crotch! I almost fell out of my chair! It was the most humiliating thing I've ever experienced in my life. And they made ME feel like the whore.

Guess what? I was going over some old threads and I just now saw this reply to my question to Kittyeatzjdubs.
But this is such a good topic, and we have had so many new ones that I thought it merited more attention. I'll bet they'll be interested in reading about the wonderful shepherding tactics in the WTS.
Maybe some of the new JW apologists on the board will see this and want to explain how in reality these people were being helped by these types of questions.
