Just call it "Broth-el", pronouncing the last syllable as though you were saying "Bethel". See if they pick up on it...

My grandfather was so funny! He hated the whole witness thing, and he would take any opportunity to poke fun at it. He used to call the Kingdom hall, the kingdom come, and he called armaggedon, arbageddy When I was a witness I remember it used to annoy the heck out of me when people would call us "Jehovah witnesses" instead of Jehovah's witnesses.
