Indeed, you won't win any friends amongst the body of elders by staying unbaptised and going on to university. They would have less control over you than ever then. However, I would strongly advise you to push ahead with your ambitions, whether it's frowned upon or not. Apart from your family, it's not really anyone else's business to try to influence your decisions regarding your future, but that won't stop them trying to intervene.
