It's great to hear you're enjoying life and love without the Cult messing things up.

Disfellowshipping and shunning is SO COLD. That religion teaches the opposite of love. I remember my elder father saying to me 'this is gonna hurt me more than you' as he beat me repeatedly for not enjoying his 'family study' enough (happened nearly every time - so much the words 'family study' would give me shivers to hear). I think he believed it too!!

I'm really sorry to hear about brother in law bs.

Isn't it interesting, when we tell others who have never been dubs (or for that matter never will be) about the way the jw's have handled child abuse they are generally in shock if not a measure of disbelief.

I'm glad that you got out and have moved on with your life and I'm glad that you made it here.
