If you count how many JWs put off doing things that they would love to do, but instead are waiting for the New System™ to do them, in order to Seek Kingdom Interests First™, I would venture to say that this phenomenal volume of "unlived" lives among JWs, too, is a form of suicide and/or martyrdom.
The "putting things off" is a major part of the lifestyle of a JW---if they are "loyaly and obedient" (tm) to the Watchtower. Living in this constant state of "waiting" until the so-called New Order arrives, decade after decade, does make JWs downhearted whether they want to admit this or not.
Along with that typical JW mindset, there is the sad and miserable fact that there are many JWs who are beginning to feel the pressures OF the WTS-indoctrinated ratrace existance....and are emotionally, spiritually and mentally simply just giving up.
I live in a tiny village and don't have access to "news" in bigger cities and bigger KHs, but in the ten years before I left the WTS in '99, I personally knew of four JWs who took their own life, and one that I strongly suspect had done the same although no one would admit it.
One was recenty DFed for the second time, and the rest were all "in good standing". There aren't that many JWs around here, and if THIS is any ratio of JWs committing suicide as compared to the national (or even worldwide) average, this is horrendous to even think about! From my standpoint, I think there is an overwhelming problem. Of course we don't see THAT in the annual WTS reports, now DO we?
Keep convincing yourselves, JWs, how HAPPY you are....you may have to fall back on this delusion in the near future.
