they were there, there were witnesses! We were terrified and silenced! We were not allowed to talk. My life was threatened and my brothers, were threatened, they were going to be killed if I spoke.And when I started remembering the abuse I was abused horrifically in the congregation and I wrote the Watchtower Society and I begged for help, I have the letters with me to show you the names of ten of the elders who hurt me and they told me they could not answer any of the questions I asked, nor could they comment on any of the circumstances I described in the congregation.
I ended up in the hospital, in crisis in the emergency ward because of what the elders did to me. And then I was hospitalized for months, because I had nowhere to go, I was homeless. They threw me out in the street, I was destitute and I was disabled, I was unable to work because of the flashbacks I was having. And I ended up on the street, and I have with me a photocopy of the letter that the elders, he entire body of elders sent me, it has all of their names on it. It says that they called the Watchtower Society here in New York, and asked for helping and they sent me a list of homeless shelters and I have that list of homeless shelters, one of them was Parkside Projects on skid row in Portland Oregon. in Beaverton Oregon and the other was the YWCA. The humiliation that I felt was beyond belief. I almost died when I got that letter from those elders, and I almost stopped praying.

I understand that this person is receiving legal counsel if I read an earlier thread correctly.
If she is, it has to be said that her lawyer needs to be guillotined for allowing her to make her public statement in such an erratic manner. Her very serious accusations, that seem to go as far as rape and complicity to murder, should surely have been investigated by the authorities by now. IMHO she should have read from a prepared script.
I have of course known of this of accusation against TJ for a long while, but some restraint and common-sense needs to be exercised by the people helping this person.
My heart goes out to her as she obviously has had a very difficult life, but my frown goes out to her lawyer and advisors.

Nathan: Thanks for attempting to document Pat "Brave Woman's" speech at the ceremony/program on the little street in front of 25 Columbia Heights.
I am giving the lady the name of "Brave Woman" because she deserves it. I met her. She is not "mental" as some have suggested in other threads, which I couldn't stomach to even reply to. Did she suffer extreme emotional duress due to the abuse and treatment? YES. Who wouldn't?
Some posters on this forum (in other threads) are showing themselves suspicious and ignorant (and dare I say, cold-hearted) just like the GB and the JWs. Pat had her "bestest" friends who have known her forever travel with her to NY. Also, the attorney was there, someone who is not taking matters lightly. (Attorneys do not file suit without evidence.) This "Brave Woman" Pat was so nervous and upset at the thought of speaking PUBLICLY for the FIRST time, she did not think she could go thru with it. Yet that is why she and her close companions traveled all the way to NY from far away, was to PUBLICLY stand and speak of her abuse, not only by Ted Jaracz, but by the horrendous treatment of the elders in the years thereafter. And who prayed with her in private to give her strength to go forward and speak publicly as she had planned? The attorney. They prayed together for strength, for the right words to come out.
It was heartbreaking to hear the pain and hurt and torment she experienced, and many of us cried while hearing her story. We felt the pain in our hearts, because we know what abuse is like, and we could FEEL it, too. Shame shame on everyone for being Doubting Thomases, as if Bill and the attorney have not thoroughly gotten to know this lady, and who know all the details, the facts, etc. Why do you people show such a lack of confidence in silentlambs and its founder and in the fact that they would not let someone speak publicly "off the wall" without knowing EVERYTHING "behind the scenes" about this? I thought those on this forum had better sense.
I know more video will be forthcoming from individuals at the March. There were SO MANY people with video-recorders and cameras, I'm sure all events will be thoroughly documented over the next week or so. In other threads on this board, people seem very impatient and not using their heads. Please people: Give everyone TIME to: (1) stay in NY a few days AFTER the March and enjoy NY. (2) travel back home, REST up, take care of necessary mail and other daily-life stuff. (3) give 'em time to make copies of their videos, etc. Sheesh!
I know one person who videotaped for like 2-3 hours non-stop and covered everything, the March AND the ceremony/program, including the very brave and very distraught "Brave Woman" Pat. I do not have a copy of that video yet, but the person who did the taping promised to mail me one. If and when it arrives, I would be able to fill in the blanks, unless someone can do it sooner.
And, BTW, for those in the other threads who felt this lady's account was the kind that would "turn off" the news media: I do not think the media was even still around for the ceremony. (I think they were already inside the WT). There was some confusion in that Bill was conducting the ceremony/program on the far side of the street (opposite the WT building). We were all lined up on that sidewalk (across the street, with Bill facing us, his back to the WT building). There was commotion going on right in front of the WT building at the same time, either having to do with the reporters going inside the WT, and/or discussing the placement of the lambs on the steps of the WT. Many people from our March went across the street to the WT building WHILE BILL & the LAMBS WERE SPEAKING, which I thought was REALLY RUDE for people to be walking off while Bill and the lambs were speaking. Of course we were all curious as to what was going on across the street, but, hey, how rude to walk away while Bill & the lambs were speaking/giving their stories??? That ticked me off that people did that.
Anyway, Nathan, hope someone can fill in the blanks sooner.

I tend to echo Hillary's thoughts on this. She's not getting good legal counsel. Accusations THAT serious should NEVER have been given to the public in that fashion. It makes her look like she's got ISSUES or is making it up. She needs to fire her lawyers and get a new set with better strategy. My heart goes out to her........

Hello Grits,
In these emotionally charged situations it is common for the alleged victim to read from a prepared statement not to rely on prayer.
Her lawyer and advisers imho was at fault in putting this person through such trauma. A written and carefully prepared statement would have gone a long way to unraveling what you call the 'suspicion' in the minds of many not at the march in New York. Remember Grits, a handful of people were actually present, but the world was out here watching.
I can only speak for myself Grits, and my heart is not 'cold' concerning this victim. I am trying to help in practical ways which very few know about to help the victims of such crimes as those alleged against Jaracsz and I can assure you that this situation, if it comes to anything, will be successful not on an outpouring of emotion and abstraction but on the bitter steel of cold evidence.

I totally agree with Grits. The Brave Woman Pat was shaken a bit when giving her speech in front of the Corporate headquarters of the very religion that should have protected her and all the others who were abused and raped. This was my first time to NY and when we got off the subway, our entrance to the street was right in front of 25 columbia hts. The first thing I saw was the Watchtower Headquarters. That totally sent me for a loop. I had to chill for a while and gather myself together and I consider myself a gutsy kind of a guy. But here you are with this Powerfull symbol in front of you. It's like we were all Davids facing Goliath. Very intimidating !! I for one believe her as she had copies of Watchtower corrospondence with her.
Be patient, I got over 1 1/2 hours of footage. Myself, jjrizo, sisteract, pomagranite and 5 others viewed it last night. jjrizo is in the process of editing it and has been in touch with Simon. When it's ready, it will be up. You're going to see some interesting things.
Grits, It was rude for people to be walking off while Bill spoke but the Watchtower goons planned it that way, they came out right at the time the speeches were given, and that poor bald witness who was attempting to enter the building for a tour, he got slammed with questions !!! The WT goons allowed that to happen too. They had over 2 months to prepare for this.

I will make detailed comments when I see the whole transcript but it seems to me that she does not say what people think she said.
And what the transcript says may not be what was really meant.
And certain terms that are used may be misunderstood to mean one thing when she really meant something else

Actually regarding her lawyers "allowing" her to spaek out publically - Has anyone considered that this was a test for her before they continue with a case. If she can stand in front of Bethel and make her allegations she will stand up in court - a trial by fire of sorts for the real thing to come later

I hope the Lady on the Left Coast....and her esteemed lawyer & Bill are quite aware of the tremendous uphill battle they'll face after those two sentences, which now can be quoted in Court - and presumably dealt with in great detail. And the whole issue of "The Myth of Repressed Memories." Dr. Elizabeth Loftus (who wrote the previously named book) might even be called in as the WTBTS's - very experienced - expert witness. Whether I agree with her or not.....she has the weighty credentials necessary to do battle.
If this were the '80's.......the climate was ripe & rift with Satanic Ritual Abuse allegations - and group sex abuse of children. 22 years later? I wish her the best of luck....and there had better be ironclad proof - because the climate is totally different now. Sorry, but that's just the way it appears from almost every book and article I've read.
Man....you should have read my Psych. textbook on this issue last semester - they quoted Elizabeth Loftus as if she were The Answer On Memory, and it's totally negative concerning this very issue.
Btw, I personally believe in the partial reality/validity of repressed memories. Memory is a strange companion. I can only envision her lonely years, degradation by the WTBTS, and depression. I sincerely hope she finds peace in her life.

Does this have anything to do with the multi-million dollar lawsuit that attorney Kim Norris anounced at the march? She did say it was filed in Oregon.
