Here's the scoop: Mr and Mrs Kwintestal are no longer Jehovah's Witnesses

And here's the letter I will give them at the meeting tomorrow:

Body of Elders, North Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses

    Halifax, NS

I am writing this to appeal your decision to disfellowship me, as I was verbally informed that you had decided to do on August 17, 2005 by Elder 1 and Elder 2(PO). Page 153 of the “Organized to do Jehovah’s Will”(OD) book permits this appeal within 7 days “from the time notified of the committee’s decision.” Following is the basis of my appeal.

It is my understanding that the basis of your decision to disfellowship me is based on witness account of two individuals that I stated I no longer wished to be a Jehovah’s Witness over the telephone. This is false, and I am sure if you check with these individuals, they will tell you that they may have misheard my statement, and that I in fact said, speaking of my wife, “She doesn’t consider herself a Jehovah’s Witness anymore.” That was “She” not WE. I understand that we were speaking over an apartment building intercom, and there may have been some difficulties in these sisters hearing me correctly, so I do not blame these sisters, and I forgive them for their misunderstanding. I did, in no way disassociate myself from the North Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses at any time.

Now, regarding my appeal. Page 147 of the OD book lays out the foundation regarding these matters, in Jesus’ statement found at Matt. 18:15-17. It states I must be contacted with the complaint. I was never contacted. That was the above-mentioned sister’s responsibility. Next, according to page 151 of the OD book, the congregation elders must contact me, and invite me to meet with them for a Judicial Committee meeting. I was never informed of the day, time or location of a Judicial Committee meeting in any way.

I understand that perhaps, in my emotional frustration, when I was informed by Elder 1 and Elder 2(PO) that I was going to be disfellowshipped, I may have said things that would cause them personal discomfort, I truly hope that they can find it in their hearts, personally to forgive me, and that they will contunue to be the fine shepherds they are, continuing in their “spirit of mildness.” Gal. 6:1

You may contact my by telephone to advise me of the scheduled meeting time for my appeal.

    Sincerely,

    Kwintestal

Covering my bases should I choose to sue them. This way they can't say, "Well, he had a chance to appeal, but he didn't."

Not necessarily, joel. I went ahead and played their game and turned it upside-down on them. The experience gives me funny stories to tell from now until kingdom come.

Well stated and layed out. I hope it helps in some way. Be sure to keep all copies of any correspondence. If you go to a JC with them are you going to record it?

I like games too! I just don't like when they don't play fair. But, all you have to do is get a lawyer to even the odds.

Who, me? I will not bring a tape recorder into a JC meeting.

I understand what Joel is saying, but I understand what Kwin is doing as well.He has family to loose and they went ahead and did something he didnot agree to or even discuss with them. They are sly lil buggers.
