  this should be interesting,

  how many of you have thought or HAVE left your mate for someone else, was it worth it, or worth it that you stayed ???

  going through a difficult time right now, we've been together 15 years now, no kids, shes a couple years older then me. But lately (the last 5 years) we just don't have much in common, sex is BORING, i guess the fire is fading fast.

  I feel i've done all i can, we bought a huge house over $250 k, bought her a new car, planned lots, but it doesn't matter what i do, she's never happy, she accussed me of having an affair a couple of years ago with a girl at work, (which i did not)(as most of you know, i run a bar and work with 10-12 very attractive women)my job does take up alot of time, and the hours are a bit screwy sometimes, but thats the way it is, and i am not willing to change my job to work days for $8 an hour, i will never make the money im making now, i have been faithful, but shes simply not happy or feels threatened i don't know, well, the clincher came today, a girl called from work, because she was having a problem with the cash machine, my wife flipped out on her, i was like holy f--k.

  Well, one girl that i work with, we have been becoming close of late (nothing has happened !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!), she is 10 years YOUNGER then me, and im thinking well, maybe its time for a change. As one guy at work said "its a no brainer", she is very attractive and very nice and personable, my wifes looks are fading, as are mine, so i thought, i seem to have more opportunites in my late thirties, then i had during my teens and twenties put together, go figure, so guys there is always hope.

  Why are women so jealous of other women and feel so threatened ???????

  What do women find attractive about an older guy ??????

  really confused, not sure what i will do, thanks for your comments.

  Be true to yourself.

  As tantalizing as a younger woman can be, is it worth it? Only you can know the answer to that. Is a maybe worth giving up the sure thing you currently have with your current? Are you giving her reason to be suspicious? I helped out a friend as night manager of her Pub and know the temptations that exist but again you have to ask, 'is it worth it?'

  Is it her self esteem that is lacking or do you contribute to it by indifference or lack of consideration to her? Is it baseless? Is it something you can live with?

  Change for the sake of change is dumb. You should have a damned good reason for giving up on something you have (at one time) committed to.

  This is just my not so humble opinion. Take it or leave it.

  Because you say stuff like this:

  I am turning 40 in July. I understand the desire to be with someone much younger. Maybe it is mid-life. Scary admitting that mid-life applies to us isn't it?

  I had an 18 year old interested in me. I was a mentor to her, larger than life in her mind. She pursued me but I said no to her. It wasn't fair to her. It wasn't right. Now keep in mind I am single and recently unattached. I still said no. Now some may call me a fool for saying no to her advances but I was true to myself.

  I can't help but feel there is more to this than what you stated in your post. A little jealousy does not justify giving up on a relationship!

  If your wife is working day shift, maybe she feels like you are drifting apart as a couple because your schedules conflict.

  If your wife is at home alone, perhaps she feels resentment that you are unavailable to her when most "normal" families are together.

  My woman's point of view: an affair isn't going to help matters, whether it is with another woman or with your job. And yes, people can and do get jealous of something seemingly innocuous like a job. If it's making you emotionally unavailable to your spouse, your spouse will pick up on it and feel neglected.

  I can promise you that your wife would rather have more quality time with YOU than a big expensive house and a car.

  I dont know you but it is your job. Your wife is past her exparation date you have a fresh supply of younger women. Male high school teachers and professors have a higher divorce rate too. Most women assume that men only want one thing. If they are not cutting it then they assume that their men are looking to replace them. Imagine if your wife was a striper. You probally would be agitated. I don't have any solutions but it is your wifes problem she is out of the game and you will be in it longer than her. Also long tern relationships are meant to be boring. That is why people have them but they just don't know it. So tell her I love you because you bore me but if you keep anoying me Ill have you replaced by (name a girl at work). Since you don't have kids you can get away with stuff like that.

  Money, and monagamy in perportion to their youth and hotness.

  BTW I am not trying to be offensive to you or your wife. I am not saying she is unatractive or really old. Just that she is less atractive and older than the women that you are around ever day. Those women still want you.

  I respectfully disagree. My fiance' is 8 years younger than me, better looking than me (I'm 34, balding, and 20, alright, 30 lbs. overweight) works in a hair salon where good looking guys come in all the time (I'm a stay at home dad 'cuz I started having seizures 8 mo. ago and almost NEVER get out) and I still get the same kind of bulshit on a regular basis. Some women are just like that.

  In some ways, it's worse, she actually talks to them for at least half an hour. It doesnt bug me.

  Obviously, this has been a long standing problem, and if you had kids, my advice would be totally different. But when they do this to you constantly, they're calling you a liar on a daily basis. NOT o.k.

  Do not go after this woman!!!!!!!!!!!!! The younger one, I mean. For your sake, if not your wife's. Make a clean break w/ your wife first, if that is what you have to do.

  You'll feel like ass if you do. Seriously. Make it homorable, then check it out after six mo. Way to easy to get sucked into a situation you'll regret later right now. And get really depressed. Best to get normal, break up, divorced upset now, sit in your underwear in front of a TV, drinking beer and eating ravioli out of a can for awhile, THEN go looking for the young hottie.
