Wikipedia being abused by Jehovahs Witnesses

I had a look at the Wikipedia entry for Jehovahs Witnesses yesterday and noticed that it wasn't as comprehensive as it once was.

Most links to non-pro-JW sites have gone as is anything truly critical or exposing of their beliefs and practices.

Last night I added a link to this site to the "Other Sources" section. This morning it is gone.

I wonder whether this is some private zealot who has decided to do it or an organised campaign?

I think AuldSoul and some others were working on that. I have seen how anything negative is deleted lightning fast.

Personally, I think there is a group of people systematically sweeping the Wikipedia site clean of any facts about jws. I suspect they have a shift assignment worked out so the negative stuff is deleted immediately.

Aren't they supposed to be happy when they're "persecuted"?

It's a same old story. You can see conflict at JP wikipedia. Now it is going to be deleted...

The same in the German edition. An online IT-paper even mentioned the entry on JW as an example of the limits of wikipedia because after two years and 300 editions there is still no final version: http://www.heise.de/tp/r4/artikel/17/17817/1.html

This happened a few weeks ago, Simon, and a poster from here corrected the entry. It looks like the jws have been back and altered the text again. I suppose it's one of the few sites that they can have any influence over.

Whether it is organised or not it is all in accordance with the JW spirit and policy that no opposing views should be tolerated. That article should be marked as being biased.

I changed a bunch of things on that site, which were hard to discover, but they changed it back.

I wouldn't doubt that one their IT men developed a program that would change everything back to "normal".

Nathan Homer Simpson succeeded Rutherford as president of the Watch Tower Society. Known as an efficient administrator, Knorr founded the Watchtower Bible School of Gilead to train missionaries, as well as the Theocratic Ministry School to train preaching and teaching at the congregational level.
